thanks man... more to come... 4 days worth of pics

what is your set up in the pic with a horse? are you using ND?

thanks Ron! ;)

The white car in the last shot made the shot more interesting. ;)
Yes, something in the middle of the building will made it more interesting, but I definitely preferred something like people. The car in white will attract your attention. Such object should blend in well with the subject not disorienting the audiences' eyes. ( What is your subject then? The building or the car?). ;)

Keep shooting! Interesting works you got there.

No problem... anyway the horse is real and roaming free in the estate (old work horse but very friendly)

Setup - EOS 10D with EF17-35mm f2.8L (B+W F-pro filter as UV guard)
f11, 1/180s (-1/2 EV) in Sunlight WB. Handheld
ISO 100. Evaluative Metering
Metered on the lighter surface of water
No ND coz the B+W filter is doing fine :)

Day 04 - Northern Bali - Here's horsey! Taken @ the private bungelow (reference post #01)

thanks Scanner for the comment.. I guess the subject is the scene.. the structure and the car just added to the aesthetics :) In a way I would agree with you about having a person instead of the car in the scene but then again, it's quite cliche to have always a person walking in between 2 symmetrical structure is it not?...too much balance to the composition ;p

Kuta Square - Kuta beach.
The sand on the beach is very very fine.. volcanic I guess and as the tide goes out, I took a walk out towards the sea and took this abstract shot: something simple yet so beautiful.

Wonderful stuff Ron, gotta love the beautiful Bali skies (wish we had weather like that all yr round here in sg). The 2 kids on the beach shot is a lovely shot and looks just like a postcard. 2 boys at the beach and Kota beach sunset are great too! Man makes me feel like going there for a vacation myself! :D

Thanks for sharing!

* continued - Day 01

Kuta Square - Kuta beach.
After walking around to take other activities on the beach, I went back tot he 2 boys and in my best Malayu, which is damn lousy, gestured to them for a photograph. Interestingly, they are so natural in front of the camera
:)

Kuta Square - Kuta beach sunset.
This is my parting shot of the beach around 1905hrs. Dinner's calling!

Bali21.jpg

Kuta square / beach is located just slightly north east of Denpasar and is a 20 - 25min drive from either the airport or Grand Bali Beach, Sanur. One of the places of interest to visit in Bali where there's supermarket (Matahari), souvenoir shops selling trinkets and cravings... hawkers coming to you to sell you stuff and offering to braid your hair or tattoo your arm for just SGD$2.00up or RP10'000 upwards. Kuta is oso a big place where Kuta square is just one of the areas around. Hard Rock Cafe is around but didn't get to visit due tot he lack of time. The place where the Bali bombing occured is about 25 mins of walking from Kuta Square, located in a 1 way street called Yang Ren Jie or Foreigner Street.
More info here

Well.. that's all for Day 01. Will update again for the rest of the day. Hope you guys enjoy the shots :)

Thanks man... yes, you should go as there's really a lot to shoot. landscapes/ people/ street/ food/ archi.... man.. it's really endless... just have to be a little vigilant at all times and keep all valuables within your sights.

Go! Go! Go!

Excellent.... Just excellent

The sunset shots are especially nice to view. Would have been a BIT nicer if could see the round ball of the sun, instead of a circular mass of light. But I guess that's more an enviromental situation than photographer.

The horse looks like my RSM. :D
