Epson RD-1 / RD-1s / RD-1x / RD-1gx

i am quite excited.(keeping fingers crossed, i get it before Monday)..neber been excited over a digital camera before...

i just realised 2 things:

a. The seller is usa based, the battery charger won't
work in Singapore 240 condition. I could buy a
110->240 converter but a bit hard to lug around while travelling.

b. the battery fits into many cameras.

So where can i buy a battery charger in Singapore for the Epson R-D1 ?

Bro, Sim Lim Tower basement shop has a shop selling rechargable batteries, you can get oem ones from there. Can't miss it just after the stairs.

thanks thanks for all the brudder replies. thanks

I will be in Tokyo early April, this will be the 1 camera that I will b looking out for!

Logically, all the RD1 came from Japan, so as long its a full set with accessories i guess it doesn't matter its a USA seller... there should be a cord with the power adaptor and another cord for the charging wall socket if i recall correctly!

Anyway, looking forward to your RD1 pics bro!

got back a RD1s.. bye bye m8 :)

sold rd1 buy m8... sold m8 get back rd1s ... cant get my hand off the seiko dial and cocking hammer wahahah so excited...

Rd 1 not selling in singapore ryte?

Brudders,

thanks. my rd-1 arrived today.

i have one quick question: when i take a couple of pix, then put the Transcend 2GB SD card into the notebook computer, it comes up with an error that it can't read and asks if i want to format it (of coss i say no).

Clues:

* the 2gb card came with the camera, i could view the pix in the 2gb card.
* in the pc, can't read, although my other M body sd card reads with no problem on my PC.

thanks

i answer my own question, got another sd card. now it works :)

Stock up more 2 GB cards!! Unfortunately it's not easy to get a good write speed with the 2GB cards.

Or get the rd1X !!!

Try erasing the sd card with outing formatting... It happen to me few time also

I would say its the different signature the sensor would produce.. each has it advantages. I usually shoot a lot low light shot, day thru night... which m8 is quite tough to manage iso 640 and lower. this made me re-vists my old rd1 pic and the lovely iso1600 shorts it can produce :)...

I usually toggle about a few bodies and felt that m8 deserve a better owner than me.
lastly i love analogue stuff.. love the seiko made indicator :) the way it power up and the needle movement ... :)

RD1s on J3..

Do you guys know where can I get one of these awesome camera? Price range also :)? Thank you very much

Hey ladies and gents,

I'm currently living in Osaka, Japan, and feel I've become a bit of an expert on sourcing these cameras here.

This is a quick update to all those searching for the delightful little Epsons.

Currently, average prices are as such:

R-d1 - 85,000 to 95,000 yen.

R-d1s - 100,000 to 120,000 yen.

R-d1x - 120,000 to 130,000 yen.

I'm becoming a full-time student next month, so I don't have too much time to go searching for camera bodies. But if those looking for Epsons are happy to pay a 10-15% hassle fee, maybe I could help you out in purchasing one of these babies.

I hope this update is helpful. Thanks guys.

Hi all R-D1 owners, I owned a R-D1x for a while and I have been using the M-Hex50 on the R-D1. Only yesterday I noticed that the focus patch "moves" from top-left to centre as I focus from near to infinity. I have a similar situation as this thread in the RFF Can someone have a look at his RD-1 framelines/focuspoint. (pic attached) - Rangefinderforum.com

except that mine when set at infinity mark the patches are aligned well and at the centre of the framelines. so, when u start to focus from near the patch is at the top left; as u focus further it moves towards the centre. is this normal?

It is the same when I used the M-Hex35.

any comments?

Just to share. Yesterday tried out R-D1xg and M8 at Shinjuku and totally fall in love with it. Reserved R-d1xg and gonna get it by today after I trade off the E-M5. I have both 5DMkII and OD E-M5. Compare to DSLR, the feeling of rangefinder is just difference. Now I understand why E-M5 and Xpro1 not exactly the replacement for RF.
P.s : Btw I stay in Tokyo, if anyone wanna get new battery EPALB1, I may be able to help. Cheerz
