Guys, I'm planning to get the R-D1s soon. just wonder anyone get from shops before other than BNS section, e.g. Benphoto, do they have limited time shop warranty?

Do you get the used or new ? In terms of all the alignment issue, can it be adjusted there too ?

bro, M8 may have issue with the black colour on black fabrics. I have heard and read that IR/UV filter is needed to maintain the black as black; otherwise, u get purple out of the black fabric. u may want to find out more about this from M8 bros here.

yup did saw them floating around.. but most of them sold. saw a few around in the shop too

they are still some stocks of R-d1x/r-d1xg in tokyo. Price is around 140000yen with body alone. With grip i forgot the price. So far i am very very happy with my used r-d1x. No misalignment observed. Anyway they give 6 months warranty so ok lar. Servicing in epson is quite easy too ( Epson offer door to door pick up servicing ). The only thing is i need to do scanning when I mount 28mm as the frameline is near to edge. But still easily estimate. I did not pick up M8 is due to the price (~350000 to 400000 yen range ). Hi guys, can I check RD-1 and RD-1s can only take up to 2GB sd card, where else RD-1x more?

What I understand is rd1x can take sdhc whereas rd1 take sd only

rd1x support up to 32GB SDHC. rd1/rd1s only 2GB SD. Read speed wise.. they are identical.

Just shoot more and get a feel of RF, i bought the R-D1s just to improve my RF skills before getting a analogue M6. Film can be very expensive if your learning curve is long. For portraits i suggest you use a 50mm / 35mm so your focal length will be 75mm / 50mm with the crop sensor. If you are wearing glasses get a diopter it helps a lot.

Incidentally, this is shot with the Canon 100mm f/3.5 LTM on the Canon 1Ds MK2 back in 2009.

I am a film SLR user, not into digital RF at all.
However I feel that the focus in the shot is off and the highlight is blown for areas above the rim of the child's hat (this can be tone down during post processing).
