Dear friends, I just bought the 5d MK 2 and found out that the set button that is situated at the middle of the dial rotates together when the dial is turned. Is this a manufacturer's defect or that it is supposed to be like that? I thought the "set" button is supposed to be stationary regardless of whether the dial is rotated or not? Can someone advice me? Thks

The set button will rotate together with the dial. At least that's what mine does.

Not need to worry ,it the same with 40D or 50D , it not a manufacturer defect., it supposed be like that.
set button on middle of the rotated dial is just confirm button on some of the function been selected.


now it time for U to explore the cam ........

Sorry, I only know about the RC-1. Can't comment on the Phottix as I have no experience with it.

Just realised that focusing with live-view will not be constrained by the f stop.

I stacked the 1.4X and 2X on a f4 lens, framed and focused with live-view.

Enjoy your time with the 5D2 as it is really a special camera! Got myself a D700 as a cheap way back into full frame as its much cheaper here in London compared to the 5D2.

that is a bummer... Hope you have travel insurance to cover at least part of the replacement cost. BTW, is it that bad in Europe? I have heard too many incidents where people get mugged or robbed while traveling there...

Vivo Canon is out of stock (checked last weekend). I checked with Samuel in John 3:16 afterwards and he said the next batch should be coming in from Canon in the week of March 23rd...
