for a rough gauge of the price, stores in japan are advertising the selling price at about 187000yen (body only), which is about SGD2.9K. normally, the price for canon bodies as compared to japan's pricing is about 200 to 300 lesser in singapore. maybe 2.7K? same as 10D launch price....?

May be you can go source for places to get it cheap, then you can conduct a MO when 20D launched

Almost impossible unless you are going to reverse engineering all the EOS electronics, EOS is fully electronic mount.

A sales rep I'm know personally from CP told me he attended an introductory forum conducted by Canon for the 20D on Tuesday evening for all retailers. The retail price was not mentioned and was kept secret when asked though. Verdict: Very very cool...haha (expected right, its new )

Thanks. I'm hoping for the 20D+17-85 IS to be priced $3.4k and below ;p Hopefully, Nikon will release another killer body to keep the price of 20D down enough to fit my budget

Canon is launching the 20D on the 19th Sept.(Sun) "somewhere in town." Sorry cannot divulge any further info cos event for invitees only and they dun want gate-crashers! Price? $2800 +/- for body alone. Start saving!

Canon Singapore has said the 20D won't have the 17-85mm lens as a kit... they don't even want to commit when the new 17-85 and 10-22 are coming.
