You must always remember to take your medication.

Tetrode, I think he has probably been hitting the medication a bit too hard actually :bsmilie:

Hi Tetrode,

This is an OT (sorry followers).

Did I question you a while back as to how you came up with Tetrode :dunno:

Sorry I am getting old... I am over 30 :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

The Tetrode is an interesting electronic device.

Name and use wise I have also liked the Triac.

No, it is not a kinky electronics thing, but I do sometimes dream about 6CA7's and KT88's and wake in a sweat :bsmilie:

Good suggestion!

I find it curious that you put someone on your ignore list, yet feel compelled to reply when someone else quotes him.

This is for canonised.

You are still on my ignore list.

Just in case after all this while, you are still ignorant how things work here. I saw your out-of-context quotation because wisp had your that statement in his post.

Your posts are trash as far as I am conern. And this out-of-context quotation is another prime example of your trash. You thought it was funny. It was stupid.

I am compelled to be curious as to why you find it curious.

but why are you curious about him being curious about why he finds it curious?:bsmilie:

Now that's curious ! did you feel compelled to write that :dunno:

I hope this does not lead to the demise of a cat

You will be on my ignore list after I write this.

#1 Canonised had started a thread on Singscott's comments which were quoted out of context. See Palvin's comments in post #78 in that thread. Singscott was kind enough not to pursue the out-of-context quotation.

#2 One day later, Canonised made that same out-of-context quote again in this thread! What was that for?

What kind of person is this?

What kind of person are you?

I am not the bit interested in Canonised or you. Inconsequentials are inconsequential.

But I will not stand by the side seeing my friend being quoted yet out-of-context again.

I have no issues with anyone putting anyone on an ignore list. Nor am I trying to assess the merits of the reasons why anyone wishes to put anyone on an ignore list. You have your reasons for putting Canonised in your ignore list. Likewise, you are free to put me on your ignore list if you wish to do so. I won't begrudge you for that.

To me, putting someone on an ignore list means you wish to ignore anything he says. Why then do you feel compelled to reply to an ignored person's comments, just because it was quoted by someone and therefore you have "seen" it and must now reply? You've made the decision to ignore, so ignore. You don't need a forum software to artifically filter out posts you don't want to see - I'm sure a human being is more discerning than that.

Or I suggest that the reason why A puts B in A's ignore list as a way for A to get the last word in (aha! after I reply to this, dont bother replying back because I wont see this), or a way of conveniently and selectively choosing which messages to reply to (get someone to quote the offending post first and legitimise it)?

I just think you should be consistent.

And by the way, the rest, don't quote me, since Student decided to ignore me, lets not give him a back door to reply to this.

You will be on my ignore list after I write this.

Not sure whether this forum has set a limit on the number of persons under "Ïgnore List" for any members coz I am sure at the rate things are moving, some members may need at least a couple of hundreds .....

Arto.

Oh! For the time being, only two in my list!

There are quite a few annoying characters around, but only three made it to the @#$%^&*+ list! One of them I could not put him on my list because the admin would not allow it!

So have lots of space for those who wish to join this list of @#$%^&*+!!!!!

My initial thought of a forum, "Enter at your own risk" or "Vent your Spleen" can have one sad flaw.....

People that are there but on ignore lists

It would be cluttered with mediators quoting others posts.

Nothing like this would be needed though if some just thought about what they write.

When posting a snide remark or a cutting reply, does that person think, "this is what I want everyone to think my personality is like" ?

A view of a possible situation.......

I am interviewing someone for a position in photography. That person mentions among other things, "I am a member of CS".

Oh.... I ask,"what is your nick there", they reply "xxxxxxxx".

I say, "oh so you are xxxxxxxx" ........ sorry the job vacancy is closed
