#21 turn left, turn right
Taken from Shinsaibashi, these "bashi" shopping streets are a lot more interesting that the proper departmental stores.

Very lovely shots of Japan.. i wish i could visit someday too.. But hear from many that it's very expensive.
Great series of pictures especially those of Mt Fuji...and im subscribed to this thread too...
Overall ur pictures really give us the feel of Japan..
Very nice series you've got here emlee
For #36, I personally would love to see the blossom in colour rather than B&W.
Inspired by the movie huh? :bsmilie:
Frankly speaking, interesting composition but doesn't quite go with the turn left, turn right title. Nonetheless you do have an eye for nice shots.![]()
... but as I learned in travel photography, you hope for the best, but you take what you get. take it as you see it, if you hesitate, the moment/weather will be gone/changed.
that reminds me, i do wish lowepro or whoever produce a camera bag with an aluminum (or whatever strong/light metal) skeleton that can be unfold into a chair, that can take a 80-90kg weight to double up as a stand to take pictures in a crowd.
Very nicely put. I've been trying to condition myself to feel less regret when the latter happens!
That's a distinctly niche market!
For the recent batch, 28 and 32 invokes a sense of calm and serene when I look at them. Have you tried cropping to lose the clip-on lamp on the right though?
thanks, but not really because of the movie, the title is an after-thought. I had wanted a shot of many umbrellas before, preferably at the Shibuya mega crossing with so many people in so many directions. but as I learned in travel photography, you hope for the best, but you take what you get. take it as you see it, if you hesitate, the moment/weather will be gone/changed.
in this example, the original image in my mind is one of UWA at eye-level. instead, this was shot at 200mm, and i had to climb onto a MacDonalds banner stand to get an elevated view.

How long was the exposure for 44?
I cant recall exactly, need to check. But I suspect it was 15 sec.
Just curious...what is the technique then to ensure that u are still sharp after 15secs? Im suspecting u cant stand still for 15 secs and be sure that the picture will still turn out alright? :dunno:
thx.
we did stand still for the whole shot. passerby were turning to see what is going on. small movements are still not too bad at this is UWA.
