I used to shoot with my left eye, but switched to right eye recently...

for no particular reason, just that since I use my right eye for m-16 range I should have faith in it while shooting photos as well, but its not like my right eye has brought me any marksman award though! :bsmilie:

i'm right handed, with right master eye... BUT

i shoot with my left eye

don't know why, but I feel uncomfortable to keep my right eye in a SLR's viewfinder...and I tested it, the viewfinder appears brighter on left eye...maybe one is a f/2.8 the other a kit lens..hahaa..

Then again, there were people who say that somehow shooting with left eye turns on some creative part of your brain, i dunno how true...

but when i shoot with TV cameras, I have no choice but to use my right eye, since its not possible to use left eye.

I prefer shooting with left eye tho I'm right hander, but I don't like the fact the nose keeps pressing against the lcd screen at the back  and only use right eye when in portrait orientation ;)

just did a check myself after seeing this interesting thread..... right master eye and hander but shoot with left eye... interesting....

Hi,
Hmm... I shoot with my camera... ha ha ha :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Anyway, I use my right eye... not sure how it's like to use the left eye, but most DSLR are design to use with right eye as most of the control buttons are on the right side of the camera.

Have a nice day.

I shoot with my left eye and leave the right open
like some wrote, shoot rifle with right eye
I'm a right hander as well

Which i could shoot with both eyes.... liveviews could help here....shoot with 3rd eyes at the end of the day....
Photographic session at day.... other shooting at night time :bsmilie:

right handed and right eye..

interesting result from the poll... more ppl using left eye than right :bsmilie:

Right-handed too, and shooting with my right eye all the time so far. But after reading this thread, I'll try my left eye too.:)

right eye for me:), my friend uses his left eye and when he does he always changes the focus point on my D300 with his nose :o

I've always thought about this question and it does amaze me when i notice the number of left-eyed people around. Maybe we should have another left/right hander poll? I think the number of left eye people in photography is due to the fact that photography is a form of art and right-brained people tend to be more artistically inclined so the % of right-brained people taking up photography is far higher than the % of left-brained people. hmm... this is really just my conjecture, please don't flame me for it!

I am a left master eye, but right handed. in NS, I am the kind that will have most problem with the rifle.
But because of my left master eye, it is also the first one to get short sightedness.
I now deliberately train myself to shoot with right eye (my better eye). So my reflex a bit slow with taking pictures, cannot do sports photography.
(dont understand the purpose of this poll but fun anyway).
(do post more fun questions here... getting a bit bored). :)

i shoot with my right eye bcos my left eye sees ghosts. :bsmilie:

no option for both eyes ? lol
I can shoot with both eyes.
Right eye tired liao , switch to left :bsmilie:

I shoot with my left eye
I hold my knife with my left
I write with my right
I play batting games / badminton with my right.
And my Right hand can carry more load than my left.

left eye, right hand!

I'm training myself to use both eyes. I often shoot with my right eye open. Opening the left eye helps prepare you for something happening/coming from the left side, sort of dynamic-AF.

Maybe I'll turn out to be like a chameleon with eyes going in different directions. That'll be real cool, no?

right eye for me:), my friend uses his left eye and when he does he always changes the focus point on my D300 with his nose :o

haha, then he gotta train his nose to be accurate...kidding :bsmilie:
