Bro,... welcome to the black & silver club
:bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

hwchoy, I'm not alone... heheheh... :p

Why black & sliver club? because of the camera body? Does the G5 come in sliver body? Or u are refering to all the Gx users?
So am I automatically a B&S club since I own a G5 too? :)

The thread seems to be getting a little quiet over the weekend.. hmm . let me kick start a little here..

Whenever I'm trying to focus using the LCD monitor, I noticed that the image on the LCD jerk to a standstill for a split second before the AF frame turn green and give out two beeps sound indicating the completion of the metering process.. It didn't really bother me lot but I don't seems to find any doucmentation on this behaviour in the User Guide. Just wanna make sure it is normal and not a defect.

Oh... because initially hwchoy and me pitching about why the lens adapter from canon only in silver color? Don't you think its quite ugly match? Body in black and adapter in sliver, lens convertor in black..
I would prefer the whole system is in cool black color :blah: :blah:

I guess, C* save production cost, since this adapter can be used on either G4 and G5. Btw, G4 body is silver color.

Hmm... this is the autofocus. And I find that, this G5 autofocus system a bit faster than Nikon's 5700
I also like its "beep" focus confirmation, whereas 5700 only lights up the LED.

Cheers!

So the behaviour is perfectly normal? Mind if I ask why the switch from 5700 to G5? not up to ur expectation?

The G5 is my first digicam.. :D

The only reason.. I need a print-direct/print bridge compatible cam lah :bsmilie: And closest cam to 5700 is the G5 lor

However, I still miss 5700's 8x zoom and SLR type hold and feel :sweatsm:

you're supposed to use the LCD :D

when using the adaptor with the TC, WC or close-ups, you'd either be focusing faraway (infinity) or very close. For macro (very close) my habit is to go manual focusing.

mi very new in digital cam too....
still blur blur one..

I do not own any converter or adapter yet.. not in the time being..

I think I did read about this problem in other forum... can't remember where.. ;p

IMHO I think it is a design flaw... obviously canon's mechnical dept is not doing a good job..

Ironically the only way to overcome this problem is using a 3rd party adaptors like those 52mm type from the Lensmate instead..
Correct me if I'm wrong..

What about the 55mm adaptor? Anyone using it for the G5 and does it obstruct the viewfinder and AF beam too?

Hi, since this is a G5 thread so i thought asking a qn abt the cam here would be appropriate :) .
I have been using a canon external flash on it, but now suddenly all the pics come out totally or close to black even when the flash is fired. The flash also seems to be at full power as it takes a few secs to recharge with fresh batteries. Have any of you got this problem? Looking forward to a solution
