sorry guys ... this is what happen if you work like a machine ... lucky this is NOT on the road driving

Did you by any chance drive a DeLorean DMC-12 past the 88MPH limit?:bsmilie:

More people nowadays means more diverse voice. Harder to plan...

I agree that the monthly outings are more of a social meet-up. I don't think I've been photographing the places we've been to for the past couple of months. I'm scouting for locations and finding one corner doing my own stuff instead. :bsmilie:

Location scouting aside, the real challenge is trying to shoot as much and as creatively as possible in the limited time possible.

Since it is the National Day period and we Pentax users like to wear red, we should make this a red party. That means that we should use the theme of red to creatively come up with our August red photo round-up.

Nice idea, I like that. Maybe we do it on the weekend after the National Day? All in red of course

Model shooting & YOG will have to be special event. Unless prior arrangement is made for model shooting and specific event is indentified for YOG, it is difficult to fit into the more "open&walk-about-type" of monthly outing.

Since you brought it up, maybe we can have special events for model shooting, macro (still thinking of all your toys), action, etc beside our monthly outing. This events are for special interest groups and more focus on the technical side of photography.

As i see it, the monthly outing is more social and lens-ogling type of event. This is my personal opinion and as usual C&C is welcome..:bsmilie:

Actually I always have the "hidden agenda" to make Pentax more visible so that this great brand and great line of products don't die down. :D
Can't do that when we are away from public eye :bsmilie:

I'm would also like the community to be more diverse in the photographs we take. Why is Pentax only a "slow poke" brand? Can only do still life, macro, landscapes. Unwittingly we fuel this misconception, by taking more and more of such (though very often at a high standard).
Bring the camera where it is visible. Let ppl see that there are ppl who wear a Pentaxian T-shirt once a month and use a camera brand called Pentax.

Portraits photography is very useful one. No... not for looking at XMM, but maybe one day out of job, can still make a living doing weddings and portraits :bsmilie:
Direct application ATM is just to take portraits of family and friends (those we love).

Well..... thats my few cents on it anyway.

Too bad time only allows me one outing a month :(
Can't arrange anything else.

I don't really have a preference to any type of shoot, so lets see what the majority or the Pentaxians, seniors/gurus suggest.

I will certainly bring (and still very eager to try out) all the macro gizmos and lighting setups if we decide on macro

Now your secret agenda is no more secret hahah... joke aside, all venues proposed are public area, so there will be no problem of exposure, or lack of it. About attending sport events with media presence, FW & Arthur (A2D2) had done that before in the last Singapore Open bedminton competition (i think). You need a special pass to enter and get close to shoot. In fact, FW pic appeared in some online blog. The last skate boarding in East Coast was a successful outing with a lot of good pic of action. There are a few of us going for F1 over the last few years, and again a lot of good pic to show, so i dont think we are underexposed, in that sense.:bsmilie:

About bringing up the brand, i am not so sure. i thought that is emjay work. if i have to bring up all the brands of stuff i use, i will be a very busy man. Dont think i am with you on that. :nono: anyway, i am not a fan of mega brand. just a brand offering value for money will do.

As for potrait shoot, the last time we organised one, the model didnt turn up. another one, someone propose we shoot each other, also no go. another one propose shoot dogs, no all interested, also no go. over the years, we did try special outings but response always so-so. the most well attended outings are always the walk around no-agenda (hidden or otherwise) monthly outing.

I know what you mean by limited audience.
But user base has increased significantly. There are more ppl with various interests.

Of course promoting the brand is Emjay's job, but I have no reservations telling ppl to buy a Pentax. Don't want to end up being part of the "Old fogies club for the appreciation of legacy and past Pentax cameras" which meet in a dingy pub once a year.
Anyway, more ppl means more say, more stuff in stock in the stores; more BnS.
Heck! Nowadays, I even see ppl who never get involved in the community here sell Pentax stuff in the BnS.
More stuff and BnS activity means more chance for ppl to buy less common items.
Ok. I do dislike it how things sell off so fast nowadays before I have a chance to decide to buy, when they used to sit there for weeks. :bsmilie:

Anyway, I take photos of everything, so any outing is good for me ;)

Won't it be uncomfortable for this thing to slip through your backdoor? Disgusting.....

Wah, how come all this while I never equate with Pentax Action Party. This forum cannot type in the initials P.A.P. without the fullstops...
