Desperately desperately in need of help for my son

Sounds like atopical eczema. Get him to go for an allergy test, most people who suffer from atopical eczema cannot take certain food like beef, seafood or alcohol etc.. It takes only 30 minutes after consumption of such food to trigger rashes and bleeding (from clothing rubbing the skin) so it's quite important to note what food needs to be avoided. For very bad cases, steroids help alleviate the situation a little but it's not good for the body.

Recently, I heard that Traditional Chinese Medicine may help. Can anyone guide me or recommend me as to where to go? I would greatly appreciate it as his condition is getting on my nervess. His skin is also thining and he gets cold even on hot days/ Help would be greatly appreciated.

My nephew had severe eczema from young and he was treated by a TCM doctor who cleared the eczema after herbal treatment. He is now in kindergarten and has normal skin. Prior to this case, I had very little faith in TCM. But I have seen the results with my own eyes and I am convinced. You can try this contact:

Shuangyin Chinese Medical Centre
Zhou Shuang Yin (M. MED)

Same problem. Last night tried the pure olive oil. My wife's friend bought from US for herself. Saw my son's condition and gave some to us. Very very concentrated and expensive (small bottle = $200) as well. This morning, his skin was much smoother and lessen flakes. Anyone know where to get in Singapore?

btw, just a pondering question... how many stuff have you been applying on him since october? Any med or creams or watever does not take effect immediately, mostly will take about 2 weeks for it to come into effect. I suggest to take it slow, don't force everything onto him at once, find the cause, not panic with solutions.

wear gloves and keep short finger nails...

what works well is coconut oil, aloe, and swimming in salt water under a nice sun.

i know some poeple back home who had skin problems and most recently my nephew in the philippines. for all of them it works after about 4 days to a week. with my nephew same thing, it would not heal. i suggested this same thing and we went down for a weekend to the beach. we rubbed his wounds with aloe from the plant (not the lotion), let it dry under the sun then rub coconut oil over it as he tanned for couple hours. after that he swam in the ocean and the salt water pretty much pulls everything out.

equally imporant is that you whatever you choose to do, you must be patient, must be open minded, and must visualize the healing in a spiritual sense. in other words you have to see it in your mind and will it to happen.

good luck and best wishes for the upcoming year
aloha...

My nephew had same problem, found out that diet was the cause. he is allergic to eggs.

I also suffered from eczema a while back. Went to a couple of GPs and totally did not help, until I visit a specialist in Mt alvernia who gave me oral steroids.

That helped. I think steroids can stop eczema and the thing is how to stop it from coming back. You really have to take steroids to stop the eczema and let the skin heal cuz I think once I had serious eczema, it is impossible to use other milder medicine as the scratch is soo maddening and stressing and it is basically a POSITIVE feedback.

For my case, after the eczema stopped from the steroid medication and the itch stopped, I am more conscious of the eczema. For my case, I don't really know what was the trigger but I THINK it is stress related. Once the itch stopped, you FEEL better, less stressed. Changes to my lifestyle was I used QV wash instead of stronger soaps, don't go out often when it is hot, changed to loose boxers instead of tight clothing which can irritate my skin. Cut those labels from my shirts that were irritaing my skin.

Now, I get minor eczema nowadays, but when they appear, I just tell myself relax, nothing to worry about as you had conquered it once. For me, I think the MAIN trigger was stress, psychological.

Hi Ihsan, hope your son get well soon! i kind of believe that best medicine is something we produce out of our own body? try to eat something healtier and natural, and keep him exercise? if he feel pain during bath or got upset sometimes, then encourage him that we all need to deal with hardship, and learning how to overcome =)

Went to one of the TCM recommended by one forumer through PM. It was the most encouraging doctor that I went thru so far. When the doctor saw my son's condition, he said that it is curable. The first most encouraging statement from a doctor. He claimed that he had numerous success cases. This differs a lot from the hospital cause they said nothing can be done much. I also noticed that this doctor has a lot of newspaper cuttings saying that he cured Cancer patients via TCM if they discovered it early.

What was even more encouraging was when my son and I were waiting outside for the medicine, the other patients saw my son's condition and reassured me that he is going to be alright as this doctor has strong track records. One of them even said that her nephew is just as bad and was cured by the doctor. Hopefully, this is going to be alright.

To everyone, tx for your numerous suggestions and recommendations and most importantly the moral support. I will update you all on my son's progress. Thank you all very much or else I would not know what to do.

swimming in salt water with open wounds is a big nonono:nono:

This is actually very controversial. When we had very bad abrasions after 42 km route march, our CSM ordered the whole company to go into the sea, it really stings but it healed damn fast.

My father-in-law said that when he was circumsized, he had to go to the sea to cleanse himself. Interestingly, it healed within 1 day.

Very happy to hear that too! What a refreshing way to be ushered into the new year! I can't do much but I can pray ... what's his name?

Will pray for a speedy recovery for your son. As a father, I understand the pain parents go thru seeing their children suffer. May 2008 be a New Year of recovery and joy for your son and your family.

And to all who have PM and help a Big Thank You for making CS a great community.

His charges are kind of expensive and he charges like private specialists.

There is another TCM in Chinatown which i accidentally found out from my friend yesterday during a friendly chat. I believe this is the one my father was talking abt. His charges are very cheap and reputation is also very good. He has clinics in Singapore and London. Will find out details and post it here in this thread.

My friend whose son was suffering from constant coughing with thick phlegm. Will wake up constantly at night with cold sweat due to cough. Has been rushing around specialists and various medications but to no avail. Got recommended by a friend and was healed after 3 days.

Hi Ihsan. Glad to hear that you are getting promising treatment for your son and that you have taken him off steroids. I have had eczema all my life and I know what it feels like. Worse, in my case it has been getting worse as time goes by. Do note that eczema is NOT a skin disease; only the symptoms appear on the skin. Just like diabetes is not a problem with the kidneys even though the symptoms (sugar in urine) originates from that organ. The problem has to be addressed from within so topical applications will not help much. I have spent an obscene amount of money on treatments. How much? Enough to buy a condo and its no exaggeration.

Do keep us posted on your son's progress. If the treatment works for your son, I would like to go there as well. Also many thanks to all CSers who have contributed.
