DA 35/2.4 - A Plastic Wonder! -- DAL35 vs FA35 vs DA35m vs A35 (many photos!)

Excellent review! Which hood would you recommend for DA35/2.4?

I tried to order via website but failed to use paypal to pay. You guys having this problem?

been informed by emjay that, next batch is not expected in till early to mid Nov and was strongly advised to pre-order. however, i note that there is no option on the website to choose a white DA 35mm.... does that mean emjay is only bringing in the black ones?

also inquired about the 18-135mm (which i may need before i go for my xmas holiday) and was again told that orders seem to outstrip supply... no chance to pre-order this lens? i don't see it available online.

Nope. Paid successfully....now patiently waiting.

been exchanging emails from Ronald from Emjay and it seems that there are no white Da 35MM 2.4 brought in in the next batch. He also said that the other colours would be more expensive :-O but hasn't said how much yet. Am really keen on getting a white one so i may ask Emjay to order it for me (if i can do that), so long as its not like a huge premium over the black one...

Receive email from emjay that KR/DA35mm stock will be in tomorrow if clearance all ok.
Think those that pre-ordered and paid should receive similar email...

On emjay, the price of this lens increase to $360 !

They already said the earlier price is an intro promotional price. They can't sustain the promo price for long if they are to attract retailers to want to sell their stuff with better margins.
In anycase, $360 for a fast prime lens is still a very good price. The lower quality Sony NEX prime lens 16 f/2.8 is selling at $399! :)

I agree, the DA 35/2.4 is a very good lens which is still worth the current asking price. I tried shooting at F2.4 and it is still tack sharp and focusing is very fast on the KR..:)

I think after this round of pre-order exercise.

People will be more willing to gamble on the unknown price for future products as Emjay had shown that the price given is ultimately of more value than the street price! Thumbs up!

do you guys put a lens hood on the DA35 2.4? if so, which works best for you?
