D90

The problem here for some people is that we still don't know the price of the Nikon GPS GP-1 and it'll only be available in November.

It doesn't make sense to use the D90 as a travel camera without the capability to geotag the photos.

The Nikon D90 will be available by the end of the month.

Pricing is yet to be announced. HEDIRMAN SUPIAN

Just read from DP forum, the D90 will be available from today. I guess the D90 would be town this coming two week. Just wonder how the price will go.
Maybe $1399* 1.4??

I guess as usual SG prices will be slightly higher than US, but street price may be $1300x 1.4 though...just speculating...:)

dilemma between this and D300 :sweatsm:

I prefer something lighter. Nice weight for travelling as well as macro shooting. With D-movie function make life more interesting. :)

u make D90 sounds more logical for me to buy ;) good to replace my canon S5...

looks like im gonna haunt leslie(John 3:16) again for D90 again this coming week.. haha.. scared by first october all D90 will be grabbed up

why is it heavier then D80?
when others are getting lighter

Based on my observation local prices are about that of online prices converted to SGD (plus ~ US$50 shipment). If it is much higher you can choose to buy online but warranty coverage is only from country of purchase. Having said that cameras nowadays should be quite robust....

Yup, I realize the D700 trumps the D90, just not quite sure by how much. The D90 has features more suited for travels in addition to the much lower price whereas the D700.. well it's the D700! :bsmilie:

Anyways, I'll be sure to check out your posts. :)

Thanks. Sigh.. 2 stops is a bit tough to compromise on. Ah decisions.. decisions..

you can check out the reviews at dpreview.com, dynamic range is showed at all ISO ranges. For D90 you will have to wait, full review is not out yet. At the end of the day it depends on ur camera usage....at ISO 3200 D300's performance is resonably great, and D90's performance is likely comparable cos it's using the same image proccessor n sensor. it's also unlikely dat u shoot so often in such low light, unless u r taking illicit photos:bigeyes:

I personally think heavier is better. D80 is smaller than the D70 but too light for my liking. I think the D70 size & weight distribution is the best to my liking, with the D200/d300 slightly too big for my hands. So D90 with a little more weight would feel really nice & solid in your hands...not to mention better balance with heavier lens :)

in US, the body cost $999 USD = $1434 SGD ;p
how much will Canon sell the 50D body

RRP is 2099sgd. anyway i expect the body only rrp for d90 to be around 1499-1599.

I have the same expectation. But hopefully by the time I can upgrade (nex March) it will be $1200. :bsmilie:

Thanks for sharing the vimeo videos liquidity! I liked how the 'deeninety' video showed what you can do with a 35mm based video camera, really nice. I haven't been tempted to upgrade my DSLR for a very long time (still using my trusty D70) but the new Nikons of late, esp the D700 are really impressive :) Can't wait to see what videos the CS users come up with when using the D90! :D
