hahaha... if it comes wif xlr adapter i'll dump my dvx-100... lol

According to specs from Nikon.com.sg, it's video format is .AVI, Mono sound recording.

Not a big issue with sound as most 16mm & 35mm film cameras like Arri & Bolex doesn't record sync sound as well. The traditional clapperboard will be of good use again. :D
And in fact, the mono sound makes it easier to sync sound form a separate recorder.

The D90 will never replace any video cameras at this moment because of the lack of autofocus in video mode, so most event videographer will not use it.

However, the D90's video mode will have huge potential if you treat the acquisition workflow like traditional film. With the capability to use fast lenses, this video feature may put Nikon up in the league of digital filmmaking like the Red or Scarlet.

I am putting my purchase of the Letus Extreme on hold for now until I get my hands on a D90 to test.... :D

Meanwhile, if a sub $1000 consumer camera like the Canon TX1 can produce good videos, I don't see why this D90 can't produce high end film-like video quality. :)

A DSLR replaces SLR which traditionally shoots film.. So shouldn't a video capable DSLR shoot video like how it was supposed to be shot on film? ;p Plus the DX frame size is a very close match to 35mm film movie frame size.

You are absolutely right, but then again, in this digital era, how many have touched analog film (motion picture) before to understand the proper workflow? :)

Many people's mindset including most video professionals will treat this video feature and compare it to the regular video cameras...but don't forget that Nikon has it days in 8mm cameras as well, so the area of motion picture is not something new to Nikon as well. :)

this time Nikon really spoils the fun of the C camp :bsmilie:

they are really all out to annoy C camp

I won't be surprised if this camera is the one to rocket Nikon's sales over the competitors, with an all-in-one camera with superb optics and image quality, what's not to like??? Hopefully it will drive the prices of 32gb SD cards down too :P~

I'm so excited as if I have the camera already. :bsmilie:

so singapore should retail... around $1.8k ? the price of the d80 in the market now right ?
:D :D :D
