Oh no! Still using Multi-CAM 1000 autofocus module
Not that it's bad....but I would expect them to upgrade this module to something better...hmmmm....

y? i don see anything wrong, AF module still remain the same as d80 as well. :dunno:

I suppose it's nothing wrong, just that I have read about some people having problems with metering with the D80 with this sensor

From CNet:

"Though it incorporates a 12-megapixel DX-format sensor, Nikon stresses that it's not the same sensor as in the D300. The pixels are the same size, however, and though it uses only 12-bit processing rather than 14-bit like the D300, Nikon claims high-ISO quality as good as the D300's, thanks to the same on-chip noise reduction.

Similarly, it has the same 11-point AF system as the D80, but Nikon adds an 11-point AF 3D-tracking mode that's a trickle-down technology from above."

same AF module, but better AF overall? :dunno:

12 bit ADC!! Arrgghh. I was silently hoping it was a 14 bit ADC!! BBB virus got attacked by 12bit antibodies.

So it is exactly the same sensor as D300?

The Euro Price looks expensive too..

Ah...a let down for the HD recording function - it records mono sound.

Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D80 (Optional, in common with the D80) gives you the choice of using one or two Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries EN-EL3e or six R6/AA-size batteries to extend battery life.

Not bad....saves me the money of buying a brand new grip, can buy 2nd hand instead. =P

some features cannot be incorporated into the D90 obviously, else it would cannibalize the higher end D300.
if you want AF-adjustm, 51-AF etc, then just get the D300.
if you just want the convenience of the GPS, then just get the coolpix.
frankly speaking the cam1000, given a better algorithm is already a very capable AF system.

Nikon now has all the cameras to satisfy the full range of DLR users at the various price points, and from newbies to working photogrs. right?

Has anybody called up CP, MScolor, TK, AP, OP on availability yet?

BBB starts now... :bsmilie:

i rather say its how nikon tweak in each and every of the cam... d50 uses 420segment as well, and there is not problem with it.
