I believe this D90 will sell like hot cakes, targeting a straddled group between experienced and new users. Shrewd strategy, Nikon! :heart:

Agree with that, D90 is now sporting some prosumer/compact camera features.

I saw from another thread that one of the famous shop in SG told him D90 will not be available in SG during Comex period. Anyway, I will only upgrade next Mar, so can even wait for the price to stabilise.

just saw the brochures and the movie mode... quite decent eh, at least for that resolution.
just that its so set in my mindset(and alot others) that dslr dont do video! its time to change our thinking and enjoy the functions or just be grumpy with nikon...

I think in terms of specs wise.. will def lose out to 50D. Think 50D came out to take on D300. Since last time, the d70/70s/80 is meant to take on the 350/400/450D

Unfortunatelly, i think Canon phased out the 18-55mm IS as a Kit I option to facilitate the placement of the new 18-200mm IS lens as Kit II. If you dont mind getting the body new and a 2nd hand kit lens, the 50D body alone costs 1.9k alone(new Kit I = 2.5k).

yes it's possible. Fisheye, macro, tele, wide angle...

certainly opens up a whole new... "ABILITY" in a dslr. Just imagine, telephoto with video, wah super shiok. So a video taken with the nikon fisheye., very very nice.

Nikon D90 to include Eye-Fi wireless control menu

Eye-Fi has announced today that Nikon's D90 digital SLR will detect when one of its Eye-Fi memory/wireless Wi-Fi transmitter SD cards is inserted and make visible an Eye-Fi menu on the rear LCD.

From this menu the card's wireless function can be turned on and off, so as to enable when Wi-Fi is active and photos are transmitted. While transmitting, the D90 will also keep itself awake to enable the completion of an upload.

According to Ken Rockwell, US online stores are taking pre-order at US$999 Body and US$1299 with kit lens. Seems to be available in late Sept. Sigh! unfortunately, will be in US in early Sept, so cannot get my hands on it...
