Cool, in LV mode, press the "ok" in the 4 way key to start shooting and it can still snap photo during video shooting!!:)

But, I heard BO is 699pound and kit is 899 pound???? That is expensive compared to US$1000!!! Oh no...:(

₤699 is as expensive as the price of the D300. Now many of us are confused , D90 ??? D300???

But the official USA Nikon Website stated ESP as US$1000 and even KRW has link to online store to pre-order at US$1000...:dunno::confused:

The features makes it too excited for me not to speculate. But for the price of U$1000 with so much features and capability, I think very soon every other one would be carrying a D90. I supposed Nikon's pricing strategy has got to be smarter than that, hence I am not so optimistic with U$1k.

I can imagine how useful is it to carry a D90 with a 17-55mm to a friend's BD party, in addition to taking a few great memorable shots, the cam can be used to shoot some candid video clips also.....hi-def some more. wooo!

I think this camera will be the one to make users dust off their 10.5mm fisheye lens to take out and play with it, after being bored playing with it for some time.
Think of all the cool angles you can achieve while using the fisheye in movie mode! Really nice for using with events with lots of action, esp breakdancing & skateboarding....

Why oh why it is not yet available.. :)

i think its great to have so many features with the power of dslr lense. however one very important thing i think everyone should look at is the noise control on this thing. the new spec suggests that it will also end at iso 3200, same as d80. that just means a few things. it means we cant get more iso like the d300, or at least more stops than d80, and the noise control might be not very far advanced from d80. I find that this is very important as an upgrade consideration, since i already own a d80, and i am very keen to solve the problem of noise control like how d300 would offer, if i had wanted to spend another 1000 plus for the upgrade. but i think daring new enthusias, camp switchers and people who don't yet own a camera that is or above the grade of d80 could buy this right away. i am looking forward tremendously towards a specific noise control report~

err.. did you read the specs properly.. it can go up to ISO 6400 on H1, as compared to ISO 3200 for D80?

The d90 will go up to ISO 6400 like the D300. It's essentially using the same sensor with the same noise reduction software. Judging from the sample images we have seen so far, its pretty damn close or even similar to the output from the D300. Of course it's best to wait till further reviews are out before we decide to put our money down for it.

of course he didn't read lah.

anyway, UK pricing is always more expensive than US pricing, especially with the weak US dollar right now. i wouldn't pay too much attention to the UK pricing.

Errrm.... how come the USD1000 price keep being mentioned? All I see is USD1299 in a couple of sites I see...

I think the D90 would be a good upgrade for me since I'm using a 1st Gen D70. The option to shoot videos is kinda cool too.

Hopefully it is really US$1000. Check out KRW's recommended online shop that is taking pre-order:

Adorama is one with good reputation, so hopefully it was the UK site that was making a mistake...:dunno:

I used to own an S3IS, I understand what you mean. But given the microphone is there and the sound from the slamming of the mirror during shutter release, the sound is inevitable...:)

Do update the price and shop when you have info. ;)

Hi, its US$1000 for Body Only (BO) and US$1299 for kit with 18-105 VR. You can see the KRW link below to the various US site that is accepting pre-order.:)

That is about 40% more....that is a little to much to swallow if I am a British...

Dont worry, the Europeans usually pay 1/3 more than our price....just flip through some UK magazines and you will see their prices are 1/3 more.

We have to see how this is implemented, because shutter is already open during liveview.
Maybe, if you film in M mode, there is no need for the shutter to close and open again.
