either you haven't AF locked or you might haved enabled Exposure delay mode (see custom menu D10)

What lens are you using when that happens?

18 to 105.

Anyway. I found the solution on the previous page. Thanks.

Another question..

What kind of bag are you guys using to contain D90?

I am looking at Kata 3N1 20 with tripod holder.

Anyone have this bag? Care to share how is it like. Thanks.

I was trying out "M" mode last night in my room. I switched off the room lights and the room was almost pitch dark. I then click the shutter release and noticed that I was not able to activate the shutter.
I then changed the lens setting from A to M. I was then able to activate the shutter.

Question:
1. Is the autofocus not able to work in no, or low light condition?
2. When I switch the main dial to bulb, under the M mode, I noticed that the shutter would remain open only when I press the shutter continuously, upon removing the pressure, the shutter would then close. Is there any method for keeping the shutter open, without the use of a remote control?

Thanks.

MS

1) AF cannot lock unless the AF-Assist illumination is on. Alternatively, setting to AF-C mode will enable you to release the shutter but the image may not be sharp because the AF is not able to lock.
2) M mode allows you to set an exposure of up to 30s. Not enough? Care to share what you're going to use it for? ;p Even with a remote in the - - mode, the exposure will automatically end after 30mins.

Thanks for quick response. Well, 30s may not be enough when I was in my pitch dark room. I was trying out "light painting" with a small touch light.

I see.. You'll probably need a cable release or a remote release. The remote release is cheaper. Another way is to find some bands to hold down the shutter release button.

Get a wireless remote la. Get a china-brand one. Cost only a few dollars.
