Poison me to get the D90 soon!!! hehe

user of a P&S Exilim and prosumer FZ18. finally upgraded with a D90 with the 18-105mm bought less than a mth ago. Got myself a 50mm f1.8D as well. Just realise that the close up filters i bought for FZ18 can be used on the 50mm lens. hehe

also contemplating of buying a 2nd hand Nikon for my wife to play.

Hello D90 users, I just got mine a month ago and I'm satisfied with it's performance... ;)

Hi all. I got my D90 some five months ago. But just registered as a user here. Nice to meet all fellas who are using the exact same camera. I think D90 is great even though it put me into installments debts... ;p

do you guys use the Easy ISO feature in our D90?. I just find this so cool. It enables to override or change the ISO(thru the main or sub dial depending on shooting mode) without getting your eyes off the viewfinder.

frankly i find that a bit irritating... :embrass:

but i use auto-ISO mode when i have to take pictures in low light (excluding landscape)... set the max ISO to 1600 and slowest shutter speed to 1/30... find it works rather nice... it would normally stick to the slowest shutter speed, while adjusting the ISO to match the exposure...

tried once in a pub shooting people singing... 3 continuous shots the camera actually giving 3 different ISO setting... quite amazed me that it took less than a second to calculate all those exposure thingy...

well it's good for me at least :). you can actually use it when youre using auto iso ON or OFF.

hi, i just got mine last weekend. I did charge my original Nikon battery over night. But the extra battery (Digicell), i remove it once it is fully charged. hehe. So eager to try out the camera.
There are a lot to discover and master in D90. Maybe we can learn together as we shoot. hehe Nice to see every D90 user here.

Hi, i am looking to buy a D90. May i find out what software do you use to edit yr videos?

How is the HD? I read that 5DMII is slightly better. My hesitation of getting a D90 now is that Nikon may announce another replacement camera... then.. Duh! hahaha...

Haha 5DMII better? You're comparing it to a diff level of DLSRs already... Well they announced D300s but its not full frame still

Woah bro, D90 and 5DM2 is on different playing levels wor. if you say 5DM2 has slightly better HD video rec + slightly more af points + higher mp then D90, of course!

because you are paying 2.5k more!

But i believe most users who are hobbyists are like me, we got D90 for this several simple reasons.

- D90's body suits our "feel"
- Casual Video recording
- In-built Motor
- Lighter weight compared to semi-pro models - e.g D700/5DM2/A700
- IMO, Very good high ISO noise control
- We like Nikon?

Since you have the kit lens, can consider buying a 2nd D40 body then....small and light for ladies

Haha.. I tried doing IR with D90+Tammy 17-50 F2.8 too... but unfortunately I cant get any good WB... Tried up to ISO1600 for like 15secs but still no good.... Ended up gave up... Revert back to my D50 to do IR...

initially settled on a D60 or D5000 but as it didnt have a top panel like the D90 so she didnt like it especially the way to change ISO settings, end up got her a 2nd hand D80 body. she using my kit lens. my own setup is just using 55-200mm and 50mm prime. Have not tested out yet so not sure if i need the wide angle even if i do, can just use the D80 with my 18-105lens to take shots

finally got my D90 kit (18-105mm) yesterday! whoa!

bought my 2nd set of D90 last week.
no regrets.
love it man.

Why bought 2nd set? For backup? ;p

I agreed. D90 feels good. My 4 year old daughter start to be my model to test out. :bsmilie:
The Auto ISO is good. But at darker area, we might need to use lower iso with a tripod for lower noise possible. The video is excellent. It's better than my previous own Sony Handycam SR45. Eventhough lighter than D700 but still consider solid build in my hand.
The slight down is shooting video under flourescent light, video will flicker (24fps). And we might need external flash if we shooting at nearer object horizontally (say camera on the floor level. Sometime, our 18-105mm will block the flash and shadow of the len appear on the photo.
