ermm not verii sure abt it...

but thanx for answering some of my doubts...

Hmm.. forgot to answer about the summer part. Generally, summer in the temperate region is drier than the tropics.. so it may not be that bad, but yeah, do take care of condensation. I think the weather forecast will tell you the temperature when condensation will occur.

Here is an example.
http://weather.yahoo.com/Las-Vegas-Nevada-United-States/USNV0049/forecast.html?unit=c
The temperature is pretty hot at 33degC, summer is ending.. but RH is 8% and the dew point is -5degC which means that condensation will only occur when you enter a room with a temperature of -5degC..... which is unlikely...

Take another example. Singapore.. Now is a drier season because summer in the northern hemisphere is ending and the sun is moving directly over us..
http://weather.yahoo.com/Paya-Lebar-Singapore/SNXX0004/forecast.html?unit=c
Temp is 29degC, feels like 33degC, RH is 70%, dewpoint is 23degC, so be careful of condensation when you go outside if your equipment has been in a room with temperature lower than 23degC.

(disclaimer: temperature and RH subject to change since the weather webpages are updated all the time, so the values I quote are only correct at the time of posting. ;p)

erm so inshort is we take note of the dewpt
lke if our cam temp is below the dewpt and we go to outside and once the cam reaches the dewpt then condensation will occur

if our cam is higher than the dewpt outside,,then nth will occur?

correct? haa

Yes. If the temperature of your object is below the dewpoint, condensation will occur once that object is exposed to the environment. Like if you turn on the aircon and if the temperature of the window falls below the dewpoint outside, it will mist up.

The dewpoint can actually be calculated from the temperature and the RH.

I just bought the D90 from TK Foto today...
$1660/-, nothing else, no card, nothing.

But finally i got it :)

huh don't even have card, thought it's part of the standard package? but that price is good... btw they only have the standard kit with 18-105mm? do they have D90 + 18-200mm kit?

but u got the standard stuff like hood, lens protector, etc yah

Sorry to ask a newbie question. I would like to know for dry cabinet, what is the ideal RH % to store your camera and lenses? I've heard a lot of ranges like 35% to 45% or 40% to 45% or 45% to 60%. I am a little confused now. I know its bad for the equipment to be stored in really low RH% as the lubricants will dry out faster and the rubber on the camera and lenses will start to dry out too. Too high and fungus will grow. :dunno:

From what I know is 45 to 55.

ermm i do not know the correct 1 too...mine is ard 46-48..

i usually maintain the %RH for my dry cabi in the region of 40 - 45%, nothing below this limit. :)

Congrats on your new buy.

Thinking of changing the focusing screen. So hard to focus with the stock screen on manual lenses especially those faster lenses.

Aside from Katzeyes anyone know any better focusing screen to use?
