D800E User Thread

@bitchbum: I had already sent my camera to NSC last week. Hopefully I can get it back this week.

@erictan8888: I believe setting an AF fine-tune value would affect all AF points? If so, setting +-5 might correct the left-most sensor but screw up the rest. I have yet to try that though as my D800E is not with me right now.

wah bro...more than 1 week? i thought most bro here say 2 days? i just send in mine..i give them my lens and ask them check everything lah...btw...carpark at fuji xerox very expensive...$2 per 30min...then the entry very steep...drive slowly :).
then NSC give me one nikon bag go market...whahaha..kinda disappointed that such a high end camera still have issues after so many months
so those buying gray sets....AWAS!!!

Haha, I sent it in last friday, today is only tuesday. Hopefully our cameras will have the issue fixed after this.

My DK-17M arrived at my doorstep yesterday and I have no camera to try it out...

Pls try to call up OP, last time I'd bought mine from OP.
But not much effect after screw in.

The advantage for won't fog and quite clean on inside the VF glass.

The concern should be for the installation part. If the screen is not installed properly, the mirror assembly could be damaged. Hence, Nikon will not assume liability for it.

OP price higher than RRP leh...boss say bec normal channel don't have...so they get from other channel...that's why more ex..wah..

why can't they just do it like the nikon F4 leh...so easy to change

can i go down to NSC to check my left focus issue? will they check for you? my serial is 8006xxx. bought on 13 oct.

*salutes*

I think I'm glad that I shoot mostly people than landscape/architecture ;p

Sometimes I see people really go very far to obtain very detailed picture - 6 to 9 frame panorama and each frame is a 3EV HDR, some landscapists practice focus stacking for landscapes too :embrass:

Yeah, I have a few friends who do multi-row HDR panoramas. Too much work, IMHO; usually, I will use grad filters and pano. The dynamic range of the D800/E is wide enough to cover for most situations.

Yup, too much work for me. I've never done a pano at all :p

But well, D800E's DR is really amazing. The day when I took out the D600 (I traded it for a D800E later) during 1230pm and took a random shot my block at my block's open carpark, I've immediately noticed the difference from the other camera's I've used before :D So I'd expect the same from the D800/E

And indeed, for sunrise/sunset, GNDs and 3 frame HDR should suffice for the D800/E

Thanks bro ! :D i also noob, i'm new to nikon :(

Bought 2 sets of D800E in early October as well. Serial nos. are 8006xxx. I have not done very extensive and detailed tests but I tried to focus on the same subject with various focussing points. The distance scale read out are constant throughout. Not sure if its even the correct way to check but I don't see my images being affected in any way.

Yesterday, Nikon called me once and SMS'd me twice to tell me my D800E was ready for collection. So it takes about 2.5 working days to fix the focusing issue. I collected it today and with the 17-35mm and 50mm f1.4G, I found the left, center and right focus points were spot on, thank goodness!

Sigh mine still no call. Hopefully can collect tomorrow n go shooting on saturday.

Just send mine for fixing left focus issue :( hope can collect asap!
