Anybody find that you need to apply more aggressive sharpening (knocking on medium format's door) for D800E files? I've been reading conflicting accounts online. Some said no need sharpening, some said must be more aggressive. I find that I do need to apply more sharpening, probably x2 of what I'm used to previously.

No nid strong sharpening.

my fotos dun even nid the usual USM strength for sharpening as compared to before when i was using d700, d3s etc.

D800e is truly ideal for what i do nowadays, landscape n studio based fotography.

To top it off, i do not own any G lenses or the latest 'pro grade' lenses.

I'm stil using D lenses, 18-35, 85 f1.4, 35f2, 70-180 micro, 28-105, samyang 14 f2.8 n angenieux 28-70.

These lenses r gd enuff for wat i do n i don't see a need to upgrade. Granted, the new lenses could be better but currently, i dun foresee any lens upgrading on my end.

yes sir.

there are alot of older lenses that are gems and can perform with the D800E.

maybe my expectations are lower. :bsmilie:

one added bonus with D800E, the DR is amazing, probably the best DSLR yet (for my field of work la).

DR was never an issue to me. I stay well within the range most of the time as I don't go after every single tone in a photo.

AF-issue again!!!!

Infamous left AF issue. Sent my D800E to NSC on 26 OCT. Got it back on 29 OCT. All fixed.

Went for wedding shoot on 06 NOV. Notice problem now migrated to the R AF. Sent to NSC today...

Now undergoing repairs... Sigh... All bros, pls check yours carefully even though you got yours fixed/calibrated at NSC.

Problem might have shifted to the opposite like mine.
