how come my old Ixus cannot take sharp photo for kids moving

i thought all have face capture mode ?

http://www.dpreview.com/products/panasonic/compacts/panasonic_dmclx3
LX3 have
Maximum aperture F2.0 - F2.8
Minimum shutter speed 60 sec
Maximum shutter speed 1/2000 sec
Aperture priority Yes ?
Shutter priority Yes

so which one is very important when taking kids photo?

Oops should be faster shutter speed + max aperture from F2 - F2.8...

If the D3200, D5100 & D7000 all can be do as well than the digital cam on 99% for kids moving pose.

Just buy combo for D3200 + 35mm f1.8G DX that so.

Have to go back and find up, cause long time didn't used already :)

But LX3 is outdated already, you should look at LX5.

wife must use cos if not every photo i will not be inside :(

Steven, try to use your ixus at it's widest focal length at widest aperture if you want to try to freeze the kids.
I have the d7000 and I gifted my brother and g3. The g3 is very capable for its size and gives wonderful images. But it's still not on the same level as the d7000.
Of course it's way lighter.
Does your camera take external flash? If yes, that would be the route I would suggest.

Just chipping in my 2 cents, but the key to capture running kids etc, is fast shuttle speed. Set it like 1/50 or faster, depending on how erratic your kids move about. For my case, 1/40 is enough. If you can open your aperture wide ie lower f number (f2, f2.8 etc) the merrier, as that would mean you can shoot at a faster speed, without making your pictures look too dark. An alternative will be to use flash, either on camera flash or an external flash e.g. SB700, if applicable :) hope this helps :)

Some of my street walks in malacca and taken with 35mm DX and D7000 (f/1.8 with ISO : 2000)

Please take noted, all the photos you may taken as fast as sharp in possible,
some stock won't allow you to shots with their products,
you many buy and bring back and shoot as what you like :)

Hmm your don't need most of the things (tripod, cleaning kit and even the bag) no sure what is a lens protector though, you mean a lens pouch? If you reject those things maybe you can get a better deal.

I agree... can get lower price just got to bargain...the protector is the UV protector n scratch resistance..coz at that instance I just bag everything they want to give hehe...coz it is within my budget....

Anyone using D7000 with older version of Tamron 17-50/f2.8 with motor?

Any chance of getting it to AF on Live view?
