You should be annoyed, very annoyed. It could be a return set from customer due to camera fault. You should exercise your consumer rights and ask for a 0 shutter count set. Test on the spot till satisfied! ;p

You mean go back and exchange the set? Will the shop allow? As I have already unpacked everything and registered the warranty.. I'm also afraid its a return set due to camera fault.

:( so depressed now. my first full-time job and used nearly 2 months salary to buy the camera, now i keep taking out the camera to look at it, wondering whether this function is normal in a dslr or whether it is faulty (yeah, maybe I'm paranoid but... ) so sorry to keep posting about my problem, just camping on clubsnap now feeling really emo over getting a demo kit...

dont dwell on it lah. like i said, someone may have tested the continuous high mode. 1 press of the shutter button n it shot so many times.
Are there cosmetic marks etc? has it failed you so far?

Just enjoy the camera and take great pics!

still emo? then let me ask you: how many times has your lens been used before you bought it? how do you know if it has been used?
You never know right? so? don't dwell on it. You are covered by warranty. anything wrong, you can still get it fixed at NSC.

my pay is really too low to afford a dslr. I guess I just wanted to do something for them, to get a good camera and take some nice family portraits while they are healthy, when they are old they can look at the pictures. I guess I just wanted everything to be perfect. when this went wrong, just felt so stupid getting a used kit, and all these negative emotions just swell up... should stop bombarding this thread needlessly, thanks for the consolation! :)

Doubt it's used set. When I got my d60 last time is also got 40+ sc.. But till now I am still happily using it as a second body. Just go and take more photos. :)

Dont think so much about it le. If it works normally, then no problem liaoz. Go out & enjoy taking photos.
Dont let 53 shutter count deter u from the joys of photography.

There are two School of Thoughts on this SC issue.

1. The QC tested your sets, hence the value shown in your SC. Let's assume he was satisfied with your set and released for distribution. Would you prefer to buy this set?
2. The QC did not test your set, hence 0 value in your SC. The set may have been released for distribution directly from the Packing Dept. Would you prefer to buy this set?

So it is individual's conclusion whether 1) is preferred or 2).
