Hi guys! Went back to the shop and they exchanged the set for me Got 0 shutter count haha! I sound so childish but I'm really happy now. Brought the warranty card, box and exchanged the camera body and lens with a new kit. They let me use their computer to test on the spot. I got to say they were really reasonable to allow the exchange, as they could very well say that I had taken the photos. Borrowed a few books from my friend to read over the weekend on exposure. Can't wait to do more hands-on this weekend. You guys are really great people and encouraging. Thank you so much for answering all my queries and supporting me!

Hi edwthy, happy to hear it. Just to share, mine D3100 bought from John 3:16 with shutter count of 108. Hee, anyway it clock 17000 SC now. Happy with the cam but not with John.

I seldom hear customer unhappy with J 316. Most bros say that J316 is expensive but service good.

You would be surprised, J3:16 receive bad reviews here on a rather regular basis.

Newbie here. I went Funan to source around yesterday as I'm planning to get D7000 with kit lens (for the time being) by this weekend. Here are some quotes I received.

TK foto - $1,869 cash with freebies*
John 3:16 - $1,890 cash with freebies*
Alan Photo - $1,890 cash with freebies*, free AF50mm lens collect on the spot
Challenger - $2,099 cash/nets/card with freebies
e-quote from MS Color - $1,899 with freebies*
SLR Revolution - $1,852 cash with freebies*

Going back later today to get from SLR Revolution. They also quote me $36 IIRC for the Hoya HMC 67mm UV filter.

Check out the lens reviews? 18-200's iq is not that sharp, but it's a really convenient lens for walkaround use.

Well after conversion, +7% GST it comes close to 2.4k already...and the fact that it's considered a grey set with no warranty. PLUS, the fear that shipping it here will render fragile items to get knocked around..

u go weigh if it's worthwhile for that extra few hundred for a piece of mind..
