Just bought the D7K. Intend to use the 2nd SD slot for movie files only. Any recommendation for the brand of SD to use with reasonable speed?

Can try kingston class 10.. cheap... around $18 for 8gb

or Sandisk SDHC video (30mb/s) around $30 for 8gb

The best Sandisk extreme Pro (45mb/s) around $50 for 8gb...

Well if you scroll backwards a few pages, you'll find this post about the SD card that's specially designed to maximise potential with D7000. You should buy that, then tell me if it's really that good XP

I'm using Aperture 3rd party batt grip for my d7k BUT I wouldn't recommend a third party batt grip..regretted it after I bought it =/ it's too plastic and I don't feel safe when holding on to the grip when I mount on a heavier lens..you will have the feeling that the grip will break off anytime..if you have the budget go for original ;-)

Hi,

I'm new user, just bought a D7K as my 1st DSLR...
have some question, hope someone can give me good advise...

have any1 using 3rd party battery grip for D7k?
I just tested Phottix battery grip, the Shutter and Aperture dial is opposite with body dial.
(means when you turn to left hand side is faster shutter on BG, but actually is lower on body).

Have any others 3rd party is same direction as body dial?

Nikon rumors showed a patent pending battery grip with built-in gps. I hope they do make one for D7000!!!

Thank you for the advise(s)!

How I wish we're in a country with huge grasslands and forests. As and when we like we can just drive our van or pilot our plane to the wilderness and start snapping

I'm using the 32gb version. Raw on this card n jpegs on slot 2. No problems so far. Have u formatted in camera?

just got D7000 body in JB, Plaza Angsana. chkg wat is the price for original batteries sold in SG? pardon me for starting from pg.1 of this thread.

nice info!

Hirzi Hussain: test out your card with the software?
but if you are only getting a few bad files on the card, it may not be a fake card. Rather, it could be a faulty card (some memory blocks failed but are not marked as bad in the card).

yes. I am using the one from dealextreme. I suspect maybe its a fake sd card.

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/transcend-16gb-sdhc-sd-mega-memory-card-class-10-high-speed-11299

electronic stuff better to avoid dealextreme, most of them have problems after buying them. even their batteries. If i'm not wrong amazon/ebay has authorized retailers that sell original cards for a peace of mind.

For such small items i just stick locally and get em in sls/funan if possible.
