anyone knows anything about the new processor it gonna has?

how much better we can see...

Actually, NR can be really good. Even many years ago like in year 2002 a basic utility like Neatimage can NR it and not take out much details is already available. But it takes even a Pentium D 1.8GHz several minutes to do a 6MP file. Now we are talking about 16MP.

Now take and its there in less than 0.5s, even with a camera, low power, high-powered DSPs. Very efficient.

for this new D7000 with much increased megapixel seems to contradict Nikon own policy of not chasing the pixel count and focus on having good low noise.... anyone has any opinion on this?

Sony does not make any APS-C 12MP sensors cheaply in a relative sense now?:angel:

But if the technology and capability allows it, why not?

Btw, I saw the guy using a key to remove the seal, he didn't even check in the store before he bought?

In USA, you actually don't have to check out electronics in the store. Most reputable stores have a no question return policy, so you can return any item in a specified period of time without any questions. You can buy a camera, test it out, and if you don't like it you can return it even if there is nothing wrong with it (they may charge you a restocking fee if there is nothing wrong with the camera). If you tell them there is a problem, then you can exchange 1 to 1 or get a full refund . . . no questions asked.

What price range are we looking at for the Nikon D7k?

maybe S$1580 - 1600 body alone.. greys will obviously be cheaper, perhaps by $150-200

since when did Nikon came up with policy for not chasing pixel count?

:dunno:

Got the estimated price for D7000.
It is about S$1739 (RM3999) for body and with kit lens 18-105 about S$2173 (RM4999).

These estimated prices are from a dealer friend in Malaysia.
Just for your reference.

Cheers...

But that thread is more like a launch event rather than actual retail... Does that mean on that day we can get it immediately?

If I can get one that day there and then, that would be great...
