Thanks for the virus.

By the way, what's your in-camera picture control cum sharpness settings?

Vignetting control enabled ?

No post process done - only resize.

Thanks for the virus.

all standard, never do anything at all. In fact, once I got home, I straight away mounted the lens and started snapping :bsmilie: Can't wait le. the manual so thick thicker than school textbook!

I believe by default vignetting control is off.

Looks like near my place Bt Panjang nearer to Cashew?

Good demo here of the camera's capability

heh heh...yeah. I've been living in this flat for 20 years le  now got some upgrading going on.

What I felt was amazing about the D700 (or maybe D300/D3) is the ability to focus in dim lighting! And the D700 auto WB managed to get it right!! I need to readjust the WB on my D2X

Yup tested too, the Nikon D700 high ISO is really very good man.

seems like a few sites are reporting banding problems on the d700 with high iso?

yap, you are right.one of the site is DP review, discussion forum D1-D700.

I really wonder how the D700 will perform at the Night Safari  really dim light siah.

yes, set iso to 25600, use your 70-200 VR and post the results here. ;)

sorry for the next 2 photos, it's kinda big but both are at 100% crop! Just check out the resolutions when combined with the AF-S VR 70-200 F2.8 :o

EXIFs are retained. ISO @ 500 :o

I'm no good with landscape photography but here's some anyway. Taken with 17-35 F2.8 (HDR blending of the 14-bit NEF)

For our birding friends, I think they're gonna love the D700 *poison mode* :bsmilie:

Auto focus is phenomenon! Able to isolate the bird! ISO aplenty. AF tracking for bird in flight is also phenomenon!

Equipment used: AF-I 300mm F2.8 + TC-14

AF pick out this bird within nano seconds.

AF is also able to isolate this kingfisher amongst the branches

ok... I tried taking photos of those tiny little swallows that are extremely agile in flight. Using the 3D 51 points tracking in AF-C mode I managed to capture some shots! :o

But my lens cannot reach so have to crop at 100%. I believe the blur is due to a low shutter speed and not AF.
