HN @ Funan got stocks for both D3 and D700 although I wonder if they can even sell any since AP and John are within the same building, not to mention countless other stores. Unless got ppl like me going to pay by instalment :embrass:

Actually a D700 is good enuf for a FF, for most ppl.

It is the strip down version of D3 but not really that strip down. For one, I like the built in flash useful for situation where I don't really need the big external flash further more with the high iso capability. Same sensor as D3, sensor cleaning. Smaller footprint, I don't like vertical grip actually, if D3 has that choice I go without one.

And best of all the price.

does the sensor cleaning really works?
as in it will leave you ZERO speck of dust?

well, for those considering, d3 or d700,

i think if i am going to buy a cam now, in your situation, i will surely get the d3 because it has a build in vertical grip.

i'm tired of my d200 with the vertical grip that often feels flimsy and comes loose.

but that's just me.some of my friends dont like big cam, and d3 is indeed a big cam.
worse so if you are a gal with small hands.

Which HN did u buy it from? Im surprised that they had ready stocks as compared to the Courts megastore in Tampines that i went to. The sales assistant said that i had to make an order first before they would go ahead and order from Nikon. Im also looking to get one using installments and I dont have a credit card. I read somewhere in this thread that somebody got quoted a D700 and grip for 4499 at a particular HN. Would that offer apply somewhere else?

I bought at Harvey Norman Funan last Sat. 4499 without any freebies. Then I asked my local friend to ask the price at Harvey Norman this afternoon they are giving him 4200 because he is Chinese.
