True, this is also the price that lord(Kelvin) quote to me $3920(inclusive of gst).
Does this mean that the D700 is not as popular as we think it to be?:think::think:
What's happening? Its only been a week since the D700 was launched for sale in Singapore. Already the price has fallen from$4499 to $39XX. Further one can go into a store and buy it off the shelves. And many stores have at least 1 on their shelves. I remember when the D3 and the D300 were launched about a year ago, you had to be a privileged customer to be able to put your name down on the waiting list! And the same for the Canon 1D Mk. III when it was first launched about 16 months ago. Does this mean that the D700 is not as popular as we think it to be?:think:
maybe its because Nikon's production line is very efficient and they manage to push output enough to satisfy demand... they did expand their production capacity recently... good for them... so with high supply and competition between retailers, the retailers can't keep the price at the RRP, which is never the price you would expect to buy the camera anyway... good for Nikon, good for consumers... what is even more remarkable is that they are able to ramp up production of their FX sensors to such a high number that while satisfying D3 demand in the large number of pro sports shooters who are now using it due to its unmatched at the moment ISO capability and its reliable autofocus, they are also able to produce enough to fit a new camera model and produce large numbers to cope with demand :thumbsup:What's happening? the d700 will be priced to sell in taipei
shud be cheaper than s'pore
for that matter, besides euro and some unheard of countries, almost evry country sells cheaper than s'pore
any particular place or store in Taipei to buy from ? want to avoid their Orchard Road..
That's $400-$500 plus cheaper than most shops in Singapore.
Singapore pricing is $4208 selling at CP with a Lexar 8GB 300X (their shop selling the card at $195) which is still more expensive than in Malaysia.
Then again their memory cards in Malaysia is more ex than in Singapore.
Lexar 16GB Extreme III is selling at AP for SGD$165 but in Malaysia it's selling MYR$550 (SGD$221)

I have merged the few thread about D700 pricing etc into one, please do nt start a new thread on D700 price. Any new thread on this subject will be deleted and not merged.
Thanks
There is already a thread on D700 pricing here http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=395745&page=9
Why can't just post thread instead of starting a new one?
Any members in Singapore are to note.
Camera bodies has no international warranty, ie Nikon Singapore does not recognised the warranty of any camera bought overseas. This has been stated many times by members here and yet there are still ppl asking the some old question again and again. Do a search please ppl :nono:
Also note that there is no GST in JB.
Anyway this thread will be closed and so with any future thread esp when there is already an existing one.
