I got from Harvey Norman (Jurong Point) yesterday. I paid $2288 + $350 for an extended warranty of 4 years. So, all in all, the D70 is insured for 5 years (not 3 as previously stated). The freebies include:
1. Kingston 512mb CF
2. CF card reader
3. Triopd
4. Camera bag
So basically it is a package that can start me shooting - of course, will still need to upgrade, but no rush.
I did not wait for the PC Show, as intended, because I wanted the extended warranty. For the peace of mind, also it will be good for the next owner, in case I'm upgrading, etc.
For the tripod and camera bag, there are actually freebies for Fuji cameras. "FinePix" is actually printed on the tripod box and Lowepro camera bag. Regarding getting freebies, feel free to ask for them in the major retailers (I ask for card reader to replace their dry box offer). But don't push them too much.
Basically if you want good price and knowledgable service, go to places that specialize in cameras and recommended by the activists. And if you are thinking of getting one soon, see if you can wait until PC Show.
But it you want the extended warranty, and opportunities to bargain for freebies, installment options - check out the major retailers like HN, Best Denki, etc. However, the price is usually higher. But do check around few branches of the same retailer - the deals can be different. E.g. HN Parkway is selling at $2188, but cannot give CF card.
Hope this helps.... and I really thank all who have commented and shared.
