67mm? Think around $60-$70 IIRC. But currently no stock ;p

Is it a normal UV fliter? Or how good this is?

You can bring along your 58 Hoya UV filter to Nikon Council one day, we can unscrew one B+W (or Nikon L37C) from the many lenses around and let you see the difference once it's set against a background of white paper or newspaper :) Many have seen and many have switched camps almost immediately.

Me? Yeah I did, I dumped my whole Hoya series for the B+W, NO THANKS TO MR AJ23 :bsmilie:

Just one day more might as well wait for the day to come. So that you can compare the diff.
And if the roadshow give better deal, MS might change their deal to match.

Just my 2 cents worth.. :bsmilie:
will the roadshow have better deals? thinking of getting the D70...was offered $2050, with free filter(s) thrown in. is that a good deal?

Not a bad deal. The road show will retail at $2288 with some freebies thrown in.

thanks for the reply Taker. maybe i'll check out the roadshow first before deciding. by the way, how much do filters cost usually? (sorry, if this is a dumb question. pretty new to all this)...

Hi acorn,

Filters vary in prices, from $6 to $100+. Different brand different price. Bigger filter size usually cost more as more work & glass is needed. What filter are you looking for? Common filters we often buy are UV filters to protect the lens. Cir-Polarizer, ND filter and Close-up lens are other useful ones. :) Before u buy filters, it is better to read up. Lastly try to get an equote before making any purchase. :)

Got my D70 two weeks ago but unfortunatey there was no stock of B & W filter for the kit lens so had to make do by buying Cokin UVO Filter as an interim solution. Ant thoughts on its (Cokin) quality?

Any idea when the B & W or Nikon filters will be available

Actually you can see what are the free gifts for the D70 at nikon website(no need to go roadshow)

- Tripod
- Camera bag
- 128 MB CF
- 1 e-book

All for $2288 with the Nikon D70 kit. Worth it?

Not sure if worth to get on sunday. Mostly last day if they haven't met that quota, they will give alot.

If I'm you I probably won't wait till the last day, experience has taught me that stocks sell very fast and normally for hot items (like CD/DVD-RW) gets sold out within first few days.

Its on the main page of nikon singapore website but if you look closely, the lens that comes with it is a G lens , not the ED lens . Perhaps you may wanna reconsider it.

It is...cos actually there is only one type of 18-70mm lens and that's the-
"AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm ED IF f /3.5-4.5G " type.... :nono:
