Yeah, the remote shooting with Eye-Fi works better indeed.

Zaknafein said:So how is the wu-1b better than eye-fi?
ageha said:Well, I thought the WU-1b can control the D600 remotely. How can you do that with Eye-Fi?
Zaknafein said:I tot tats what the app is supposed to do, control and shoot remotely?
ageha said:Exactly and that's why I wrote for me the WU-1b is more useful.![]()

Zaknafein said:Im still confused about what u mean, but nvm haha
Did someone try the Sigma 50/1.4 in LV on the D600? I almost ordered it but before I released the button I read it can't auto focus in LV: Nikon D600 + Sigma 50/1.4 Liveview focus issue - YouTube
Well, if true I guess it's a known issue...
wolfton said:The siggy works well on mine too before I sold it off, after acquiring the 50mm f1.8G.

Zaknafein said:U were saying the donger is better and i also daid eye-fi is better... Tats y im confused hahah.
May I ask why do you prefer the 1.8G?
wolfton said:The main reason is because I am using zoom lenses more nowadays, so after I was convinced of the 50mm f1.8G, I sold off the Sigma and used the difference to fund for a flash. In addition, I also did a review of my pictures and I find that I almost don't shoot at aperture larger than f2.2 for a long long while.....the Sigma 50mm is definitely a good lens, one of the best I have and one of my all time favourite.
Share with you some samples, in case you are in the market for a 50mm lens. All are taken with the D600.
Nikon 50mm f1.4 Af-D
@ ISO 3200, f2.2 1/250s, around 7:30pm no flash indoor
I did not buy this lens due to the shape of the bokeh with backlights. You can see a bit on the top right corner.
Sigma 50mm f1.4 DG Ex HSM
@ISO 1250 f2.8 1/100, flashlight on, taken indoor
Nikon 50mm f1.8G (3 pictures)
ISO 800 f2.8 1/200 indoor with flash
ISO 100 forgot the setting, can't find the file at this point..natural window light, indoor
ISO 200 f2.8 1/1250 gloomy day outdoor
End of the day, all 3 perform wonderfully on the D600. You will not go wrong with either. I just decided that all I needed was the 50mmf1.8G at this point and it has really served me very well so far. I am no longer a "bokehlicious" lover now as compared to when I first picked up photography, but I know many people are. If you fall into the category, the f1.4 might be the one for you.
Thanks for the summary! My concerns with the Sigma are the weight and that the 1.8G is sharper at f/1.8 than the Sigma... I don't really need f/1.4 but of course I like to have it.The Sigma costs twice as much as the 1.8G here in Japan.

one of my original batteries, barely more than 1 month of use has aged by 1 bar.
does cathay entertain any exchange for such cases?
