I like the old D300's the door- opens automatically on a spring loaded hinge by a release lever and when closed fits flush into the body contour. :thumbsup:

But the new D300s's the door- has no lock or release lever for the slot compartment cover. (you just slide it backwards to open it). :thumbsd:

I'm expecting maybe a 1400$ mark while D90's come down to 1100, 1000
D200's then will slide to about 800$$

The D300 will discontinued sooner than later. No point for Nikon to keep 2 production line with very similar feature at the same pricing. Very soon the D300 will clear the shelf at lelong price just like D200 when the D300 came out. And the used prices for D300 will be pressed down further. How low will it goes will depend on the market forces :thumbsup:

Hahaha... true, unless you wait long enough and your camera becomes an antique.

Anyway, I doubt D300 will go for a lelong price as the specs are only slightly different.

Dont see a point of upgrading from D300. not much of a diff except for the Video and duo memcard slots.

the video also not so great

thus saith someone who is trying to sell his d300...

actually, there are a fair number of changes but all within the camera. if i read it right, a number of the D3 features are now incorporated into the d300s... which means D3's replacement is coming? hmmm :think:

not that it's not good but i had one look at the D700 focusing system with the 51 tracking and was drooling ever since..

i'm still thinking whether should i get the 300s or just 300 for the time being.. but i'm also surprised that the used 300 are still quite high.. about 1700 and up.. compare to a brand new at 2000 up.. :dunno:
