I went to Pengerang for cycling and seafood 2wkend ago.
1 point to note, the malaysia custom closes at 4pm.. thus make sure u plan such a way that you will be back to the ferry terminal at Pengerang around 3/4pm.

Another thing to note is that the ferry service operates based on max head count (10 or 11 people). It will not leave until the head count is reached unless the people there agree to top up for the balance head counts. So it will always be easier to go as a group of 8-11 ppl so that everyone can chip in for the balance. Else, there can be a long wait for the ferry to fill up.

Get those MTB cycling shoe rather than those for road bike. The cleat is recessed within the sole for mtb shoe so you can walk like you're wearing a normal shoe...shimano ones starts from about $70...

Went to Tay Junction @ Binjai Park today to order my GT Ava 3.0
settled for a medium size white/red frame, decided against L size cos somehow I don't feel comfortable with the handle bars so far in front, despite me being 1.81m..oops haha!
bike costs 650 but i added alot of other stuff, incl a pair of road tyres, helmet, cycle meter, rear blinkers, air pump and extra tubes (for the road tyres). Total came up to about 980..shiong but should be worth it.. collecting tmrw or wed, depending on my schedule

Is it the version with Disc breaks? Tiong Hin sells the non-disc version at $540

The only shoe that allows you to cycle and walk are SPDs.

maybe we can find out the majority here with interest of riding, like stay west or east?
so we can plan easier?

Are you game for a ride on Tuesday evening starting at around midnight, cruising anywhere
at our own leisure. We could hit some 24 hours Kopitams all over the island for breaks
and coffee. Couldn't do it during weekdays or weekends evening because of work.

:)

A folding bike specially designed for Google Employees

The first thought that came into my mind when I was
browsing this site - will there be any local company in Singapore
that will implement this very appealing mainstream
for commuting to encourage an alternative form
of transportation to help the environment?

:think::thumbsup:

just back from Holland
Fun time riding bicycles from where I stay, in Delft to the train station, then taking a train to Amsterdam and enjoying the day out.

Very orderly, although bikes do get stolen too.

That's 'cause the Dutch use their bicycles for transport not recreation. People just 'hop on a bike' wearing what ever they happen to be wearing that day.

You will also see 'little old ladies' out on bikes with their lapdog in the front basket :-)

Amsterdam Centraal also has a multi-story bike parking station next to it, see

Singapore girls have not yet glam with a bicycle.

I shot this caucasian lady last year at kampong Glam.
