Went to Tay Junction @ Binjai Park today to order my GT Ava 3.0
settled for a medium size white/red frame, decided against L size cos somehow I don't feel comfortable with the handle bars so far in front, despite me being 1.81m..oops haha!
bike costs 650 but i added alot of other stuff, incl a pair of road tyres, helmet, cycle meter, rear blinkers, air pump and extra tubes (for the road tyres). Total came up to about 980..shiong but should be worth it.. collecting tmrw or wed, depending on my schedule

you can check this out
http://www.polygonbikes.com.au/helios300.html
currently selling at 900+ if i'm not wrong. the helios 450 would be less than your budget also.

i think the helio300 spec nt rly same as the sg one? i could be wrong, if ur rly interested can go down rodalink check. Its rly worth the price! and if u have ocbc credit card can get additional 10% off!!!

found this thread, pretty useful so far http://sheldonbrown.com/

got my bike today and DIY-ed the tyres, changed to road tyres.. luckily asked the shop guy how to remove the wheels from the bike... came home n refer to internet...ok lah.. took damn long for 1st tyre cos hard to make the tyre wall stay on the inner side of the rim... i think 40 mins..oops! 2nd tyre took 20 mins...

Hey is there a correct direction to mount tyres? motorcycling days the tyres have a rotation direction..can't find any such markings on the road tyres just now

erm... call a few ppl also la. if not 2 person abit sian ....
The longest i have ride is from yishun to pasir ris , 64.9km. but the next day i cant walk properly. :bsmilie:

What's up with your cam? What cam btw...

no la. i was using D70s, so i sold off , saving up for upgrade... to canon 1D MK III or 5D MK II

To get to Pengarang, take the ferry from Changi Ferry terminal (same one as the one to ubin). Need to bring your passport. Ferry trip per way is $10, and takes 1hr. Once you arrive on the M'sia end, and pass immigration, its a straight road till a Y-junction in which you turn right. Continue on the road and you should reach Pengarang (town). One way is 17km.

Hope it helps.

I went to Pengerang for cycling and seafood 2wkend ago.
1 point to note, the malaysia custom closes at 4pm.. thus make sure u plan such a way that you will be back to the ferry terminal at Pengerang around 3/4pm.

Are there cycling shoes [road bike] that use for both cycling & walking? (maybe this is a funny question but it would be funnier if i walk around say, a shopping centre in cycling boots).
