hi guys, i'm a newb thinking of getting a aluminium framed bicycle with normal shimano gear, disc brakes and decent comfy seat for long distance cycling...maybe front subs too...wat should my budget be? i dun mind 2nd hand...is $300 possible?
sorry if this question sounds stupid...
Hard to find at ur budget of 300$
Mine Avalanche 1.0 2nd hand around 400$ with Tserv Slick 1.75" tyres , V brake, and all GT Stock parts.
I think have, Polygon $280 at C2C shop in AMK.
Or
Aleoca bike at Carrefour.

WOW....rarely see this vintage shoes ard now days....nice bike you had bro.
i loved those shoes. used to have a pair the model before that, then when i wore those out, got a pair like the ones in your pic (M100, i think they were), and when i wore those out, got the next model up, still have them but haven't cycled for a very looong time now.
sigh... my babies are just sitting in the garage/shed waiting to be ridden again.
haha... yeah, one of these days, i'll dust off the old husky and take her out for a spin.
before married, was cycling crazy. weekends were spent on the saddle all day and night. trips to malaysia and batam were frequent. i remember one year, my gf, now my wife, said she couldn't get her CNY cards posted out to her friends and relatives on time, so i volunteered to hand deliver them around the island. got on my bike and rode all day, east coast, west coast, south and north, by the time i got home to AMK, i had travelled about 130km, legs were rubber and just had enought strength to carry bike up the strairs home... hahaha. it was a good day's ride.
i'm looking to rebuild my stumpjumper as it's just a frame and fork at the moment. the parts were transfered to my wife's rockhopper so that she'll have something to ride over here. the stumpy is a hardtail with no suspension, 7 gears in the back, 3 in front, canti brakes and thumb shifters!
this is the old husky, take a couple of years ago...

she started out as a frame and a rigid fork, i selected the various componets to build it up to suit my needs. the judy fork and hydraulic brakes were courtesy of my gf (now my wife), otherwise, it'd still be a rigid bike with vee brakes. hahaha
wow ur bike looks retro man.... i love the color... now is time to rebuild ur stumpjumper with SLX or XT which is a good buy for now. maybe now is time for cyclist gathering cum photo taking... lol
