D70s became my second cam when I started using D50. You should seriously considered the D50 / D80.
Sorry, don't understand what do you mean, can you elaborate? Do you mean D70s is not a good camera, and should either buy the D50 or wait for the coming new Nikon DSLR?

I am lazy and D50 have better post processing (which is done in the camera) for JPEgs.
A lot better noise control. But have not laid hands on the D80, so asked you to hang around first before deciding if you can.

Of course, the longer you wait, the more photographic moments you will miss. Those are priceless. ;)

What do you think of D70s as a whole? Is it a good camera to have?

Its a brilliant camera, seriously, you will never regret it unless you need something like a d200. I still love mine. Anyway, as they say a picture speaks a thousand words, so here is a link to a page in my gallery. All shots taken with a D70s! Click Here!!!

You have many nice pictures there, thanks for the link. I think D70s is a good camera, with so many supporters here in ClubSNAP, but maybe I'll wait a bit longer for the new Nikon DSLR, and see how it goes.

Im just saying the camera is capable, of course, have to have a good photog ;)

The lenses used in the pics are the cheap 70-300 non ED, 18-70 kit lens and 50mm 1.8 mostly. So dont even need the expensive lenses, although they would be really nice and so much more flexable.

Precisely!

Proven... Cheap lenses n a capable cam in e right hands can produce RESULTS!!!

Yeah, that is why Ken Rockwell says "Your camera doesn't really matters"

Amateur camera, kit lens, superzooms like 28-200 or better still 18-200, cheapo prime like 50F1.8 - such stuff is good enough liao.

Here are some of the reasons why folks buy expensive pro gear:
1 They think better equipment = better picture
2 Pro gear to impress GF, future mother-in-laws, fellow photogs, or just to show off
3 Just got the moolah, but dunno what else to buy
4 Feel good to be shooting with the best money can buy
5 Keep up with the Joneses/Ah Beng
6 Genuinely needs pro gear to show client how pro you are
7 Needs something faster, better and more convenient to use.
8 Influenced by CS Forum.....:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

PS: Some of you might have many other reasons to add....

no lah, actually it is a male thing

"mine is bigger than yours" syndrome

Ihsan, can see that you are new here. However, in all forum,
it is not polite for you to not finished reading a thread before you post something.

If you have finished reading the thread, you would have known that the link have long been posted.
