haha no worries, just that my concern now is whether to get GH2 or not, was a GF1 user, previously was from Nikon but want something smaller, hence the GF1 choices. If now move to GH2 then seem the same, however currently have a few pieces of glass from pana, was thinking to carry on with this line but seem the future of G series might not be so bright afterall..

GH2 = more video for my daughter, which is my primary subject haha.

and really hope that GH2 fix GF1 noise issue... ISO800 on GF1 is too noisy to my liking...

I still have my K7, trying to sell it off though.

If I may, keep your GF1, try playing with G2 or GH2 and decide from there. I am doing the same, I want to keep my E-PL1 as a portable cam and then buy a more capable body like GH2 for more challenging situations. This way, only need to build 1 set of lenses which work on both bodies. I personally feel that m43 future is bright. :lovegrin:

As of now, no release date of GH2 in SG yet right? I think people in the US getting it in Dec (based on B&H estimated shipping date).

Hi B00n12,
I can assure you GH2 is not based on G2 or GF1.
Its based on a newer sensor to separate between the premium and the basic, unless you wait for G3 which is based on GH2.
ISO is good until 2000, anymore and you will have to print with both eyes close.
I did an iso 3200 and a variety of colorful language was displayed by my critics.
After all, its not a Canon full frame so ISO department is still way behind.

I got my GH1 for video first, picture second.
With the GH2, you don't have to consider as it allow you to take pictures while recording.
No idea how to do that as I only field test the camera functions while another buddy tested the video.

m43 is here to stay as Oly has drop 4/3 lens to do m43, so that says a lot.
When you get a GH2, either sell off your GF-1 or use it as a B-cam like I'm doing with my GH1.
I'm waiting for that new PEN coming out late next year, co-op between Oly and Kodak.
If you are in no hurry, you can consider that as an alternative as the new PEN might prove to be on par with Panny AF and definitely richer in color (yeah, I'm a fan of Oly and Kodak's color tones).

Regarding getting it in Singapore, forget about this year and think next year.
I was hoping for a "Made in Japan" GH2 since none of my friends have a GH1 that broke apart in the first month except my "Made in China" set.

The GH1 I have is Made in China but the lug is still in good condition (not loose) after using it for 1 yr already. Not sure how the lug actually broke though unless you 'drop' it whenever you are done with a shot. i.e from shoulder level drop (free fall) to waist level. But who would actually do that? Hmmm....

Your GH1 could be the later batch that had the lug problem rectified.
I can tell you it is not user fault as I have seen what's inside the GH1 when they repair it.
To top off with a cherry, the tech from Panny did admit this is a known issue.
Second time I have to repeat this, hope there's no third time.

There is a different in the make, just that it's always on the inside and not the visible side that we assume otherwise.
Else all our lens would be made in china instead. Is your lens made in china?

Go get that GH2 so that we can brag about getting an overpriced camera that underperformed when compare to APSC.
That's what some of friends said but does it matter, it doesn't as it's the needs vs the wants.
Getting a GH2 is like those haves and have nots, it's not perfect yet but we are getting there in a million years time.
Forget about tech specs and hearsay, when it finally comes out go down to Harvey Norman or somewhere and start molesting it.
Cos if you don't like the feel it gives, nothing else matters.
Your shot will forever suck as you are pissed off with getting the wrong end of the stick.

Hi, GH2 comes with a stylus pen so you can navigate around with the icons or don't use it and switch to normal butons. If you want video, go for 14-140mm. It will be in during Dec.

seem like panasonic is having problem fulfilling demands in japan, since japan is totally sold out with GH2. Initial date for shipping in both US and Europe had been delay from 22 Nov to Mid Dec. For singapore to get GH2 i say should be Jan 11 at the earliest. I m also awaiting to get one too.. haha

Not sure if mine is the later batch since I got it somewhere in Oct 2009. Anyway I do at times check the lugs to make sure it has not gone loose. Till-to-date it doesn't show signs of movement. Maybe you are right that mine is the later batch. Time will tell. =)

All the lenses I got at the moment are Made in Japan. So don't think Panny will make lenses in China since people will surely want to copy what is being manufactured in Panny factory. :bsmilie: Imagine clones of the lens on ebay. Unthinkable.

Place a pre-order with the photo-specialist (Alan Photo, Max Photo, Cathay Photo etc). They probably won't be able to tell you when exactly stocks will come in, but with pre-order interest they'd be pressured to get in stocks once available.

And yes, definitely December. Unless by some act of God or human to cause the delay =)

Guess both of us are out of luck since zan82 already stated clearly Panny doesn't sell that option in SG.
So I guess we are better off getting it elsewhere since Panny provides limited World Wide Warranty.

Anyone with friends coming back from the states? Can help tapao back a few GH2?
Too bad there's no red GH2, just black and silver.

If as said, then the other option with the 14-42mm will be around 1.6-1.8K. Things are getting seriously expensive. :sweat:
