I have the same question. It seems like there is no way to completely disable the touch screen. And it gets quite annoying sometime when accidentially shifted the AF area when using 1-area focusing...

Precisely. I have disabled the touch to snap thingy but it seems like there is no way to disable the shifting of the AF spot.

Searched dpreview... seems no such way..

Can't you just turn the screen around (off) and just use the viewfinder? Or did I miss the point as usual...Ha Ha...I've been thinking of buying this camera as well...

Thanks George.... think it will work that way.. You just give a ring on my (& fellow's) IQ level... or is it yours..? Hahaha...

I read that some reviews said that GH2 is a semi-pro comparable to Canon's 60D.. but some said it's a good compare to entry level dSLR... dunno where it stands leh... entry level-semi pro..?

I suggest you judge the camera by what it can do, and not by what others say.

Dpreview gave it 79% and silver award. Canon 60d also same. Canon 600d was 77%. So what does that say about the GH2? Even the best camera review site (IMHO) says GH2 is mid range DSLR equivalent.

Was using the 3rd party battery and it almost fried my cam after using it for some time.....

Did you use it constantly over a long period? I'm currently testing my 3rd party batt and I've taken over 200 shots. Of cos not continuously. No signs of overheating or otherwise. How did your batt almost fry your cam?

just turn on the power and leave it inside your bag.

Is it possible that the EVF proximity sensor senses your bag and it's on all the time.
