By the way, Hong Kong official prices are:

Body alone: HKD8,990 (S$1,450)
12-50 kit: HKD10,690 (S$1,730)

So if you are going for body only, then no point buying from Hong Kong. Unless you are going for grey sets ("water goods") then the prices should be a bit lower.

Kind of surprise with these high pricing in this part of the world (e.g. body with the 14-42mm kit lens in the US is about USD1099) ... :(

What's the punishment in Singapore if I ran away with that EM-5 at the show? ;p

Went down to IT Show to try out the E-M5. Basically I find it pretty well constructed. Feels a little larger than E-PL3. Tried the 9fps mode an whoa!! Very nice !!! The camera was very responsive and the 12-50 was very small !!( I use a 14-54 mk II).

However 2 things IMHO, I didn't like. One was the position of the strap eyelets. She. You grip the body, the right side eyelet digs into your hand as its positioned right there. The body was very compact such that I can oly hold it with 3 fingers. Mno space for my pinky..

So, my suggestion is for those with larger hands, go for the grip.

The second thing I didint like was the build quality of the 12-50. Feels exactly like the 40-150 II. Not like the oly 4/3 HG or SHG lenses..

So if the reviews on the IQ and movie mode are good, I might give up my gh2 :)

yes, can do installament.

decided I will hoot the kit lens bundle in HK next month..most just sell the 12-50mm away.

some question, i wonder:
got paranomic function? i guess no
got auto-rotate detection? i guess no
got built-in wireless shutter/remote? i guess no

Played with the E-M5 for some time. I really like the camera. A few things to highlight :

1. The size and weight just right. No complaints there.

2. Black or Silver - both look good. But I think I would get the silver with the black 12-50 lens

3. AF is superb

4. Touchscreen AF appears to be a touch more responsive than the E-P3 (subjective)

5. ISO 1600 is really OK. I shot up to ISO 10000.

6. 9.6 fps (frames per second) is just AMAZING.

7. The 12-50 lens is fully featured - it has video zoom, electronic zoom, and macro mode activation - there are 3 settings on the zoom ring to access these functions

8. The shutter is silent....very silent, in part because of the weatherproofing. Stealth photographers will love it!

9. Fireworks photographer will love this more - There is this function called bulb live-view mode. Basically, this allows you to see the result of your bulb mode on the fly. You gotta see this to know what I mean. Never seen this feature in any camera before.

All I can say is, is there anything that this camera cannot do or does not have?

This confirms it, I am so getting the silver one and not the black one. The black looks wierd with the silver lens.

But here the silver one comes with the 12-50 in black !

Feature 9 is indeed interesting. Do u find the buttons a little small and hard to press? Would prefer dial wheel like the PL2/P3, but then weatherproofing might be a problem.

Something that I would like to have: focus peaking and iso 100 or even 50...
