Grip looks more flush?

I just don't understand why such integration issue can be overlooked. It seemed to suggest 2 different teams working separately with only 1 simple requirement to couple them in the end. Yes functionally they couple but aesthetically they're not. It looked as if grip is bulging under the heavy weight of the body :o

the new stuff did not excite me :D

gaffertape can fix this

i must say that the 7d is not too exciting for me either. but i guess for pro-tele shooters, they will find the aps-c 7d more appealing than the aps-h 1d series.

the only thing that interests me so far is the 18-135mm IS so that i can get it for my sister.

1.6X...so dissapointing....do 1.3 la...wah lau

like that piss off a lot of new 50D Users la.....wat lousy customer care strategy

I suspect the 1D and 1Ds will combine into 1DMkIV, giving you IQ and speed. Else I can't see how else can Canon sell their 1D series.

i think the 1Ds will definitely stay in the line-up; i fear for the aps-h 1D though.

Do I have to compete with 51 (& more to come...) other potential buyers for the 7D on first launch? Yiiikes....

:bsmilie:

19 point, 51 point, 3 point, 9 point, shots in focus= Good system

How many of you actually NEED a 51 point super fast and accurate tracking system?(Having used the D3 and D300 quite extensively, I have to say the D3's AF seems to perform quite differently, or maybe its placebo by holding a pro body.

Besides, we havent even used the camera yet! Af points alone does NOT dictate how well it performs!

eh, surprising though, no one screamed about 18MP yet? I thought it would be the first complain the moment the 7D was announced:think:

Wow! Mighty impressive lineup.

The 15-85 is very tempting. The 18-135 not so.

The 7D ticks a lot of boxes but somehow I wish the megapixels were like 12-15MP. Will create huge files. Oh well, maybe I will buy it...once the 7D Mark II comes out. Prices of 7D will sure fall then. Ha ha.

how i wish the 15-85 is in EF mount :(

wait 4 canon to do a 12-24 zooms like nikon's.
They need to re-tool the lineup badly...

If you are referring to EF-S mount, there is already the EF-S 10-22mm.

For EF lineup, 12-24mm or 14-24mm will be good, just like Nikon. Calling Canon, where are you. :kok:

wonder what will be the price like if they really release 12-24 or 14-24, cos 16-35 n 17-40 is out of reach in term of pricing for the EF line... 17-40 is the one nearest to earth...

There's always the Sigma 12-24.

Unfortunately not.

It does....
"Metering Modes: 63-zone Evaluative, Center-weighted, Partial (9.4%), Spot linked to active AF point (2.3%)":)

I know I'm going to get burnt but heck!!! Your search would be over with the Nikkor 14-24mm and an adaptor. You will not touch any UWAs from anybody ever again.

True, i tried the Nikkor, and even the touch of the lens was simply amazing, but it burns a whole in our pockets :bsmilie:

U mean a hole instead? Yeah at over $2K, u pay for what u get.

What's there to complain?

Use the comparometer in Imaging Resource. The details captured by the 7D @ low ISO simply blow the D300 into smithereens. So much for all that junk talk about diffraction.

No banding at high ISO. This bodes well for sensor dynamic range due to possibly lower electronic noise.

Dynamic range and chroma noise (both typically Canon's Archille heel) are unknown at the moment. (Awaiting DXOMark results... in few months time.) And let us settle this once and for all: pixel size has NOTHING whatsoever with Canon's poorer performance in the above two areas. Hell, even the el cheapo Nikon D5000 (3.3 MP/cm^2) has better dynamic range (12 stops) than Canon 5D (1.5 MP/cm^2, 11 stops).

If 18MP RAW files sizes are too large, one can always shoot MRAW (10 MP).
