make sure that nothing disrupts the updating of firmware, dunno what will happen but i can assure you it won't be good for the camera - as for camera settings i'm quite sure it doesn't affect settings.

impressed with 450D:)...tried it at a BBQ event yesterday...the colours are so much nicer than my FZ5(sharper too)...and with the kit lens the DOF is still quite nice(not as nice as those f2.8 and below of course)...

I wonder why my FZ5 i use it at f2.8....but can never get the same BOKEH effect.......always turns out all clear....:)....
 

still remembers some of my friend asking me....the lens so big how come zoom so short??:)...dont know how to explain....
 

Arhh, i got a question. What if i bought an EF-S lens, and next time IF i upgrade to fullframe camera that doesn't support EF-S, than what should i do? Just a curious question. ;p

keep your 450d + EF-S lens as backup ;p

but more likely , just sell both to fund your upgrade

For the bokeh, it is related to the sensor size, focal length and aperture etc.
So, it is easier for DSLR to deliver nicer bokeh due to the bigger sensor size.
Btw, I am FZ50 and 450D user also.

i see ....i always thought i got my stuff wrong....last time i set to f2.8(FZ5)...tried bokeh..always fail....then went to read try read try..always fail....
now i know why.....THANKS>...

You can actually get a nice bokeh with your FZ5 by using it at more than 80mm and aperture of F/2.8. It is because the bokeh effect will be more obvious when the longer focal length is used. Hope it helps.
 

where to buy a dry box? Carrefour? Giant?

Mine is just a tupperware air-sealed box. And sillica gel that cost $6 that i think can last for years..

Don't know whether the amount is alright, the smaller box is used for my lens, while the bigger one, i put my 450d.
