Hi guys,

Just bite the bullet and bought the new EFS 18-200 IS from MS Color for my upcoming holiday (this week). The lens is very heavy compared with the kit lens. Maybe cos I am newbie, still not used to it. Haha. Now my wallet alot lighter to balance it. So far, quite happy with it as a walk around lens due to the extended range vs my kit lens.

how much did u pay for it?

I second, haha could it be around the 17 - 55 f2.8 IS price? 1k+++?

hello bro welcome:cool:

Hey eleveninth, I like the macro pics that you have taken using the affordable Raynox DCR 250. Making me wanted to grab it and mount on my 55-200mm USM lens now! But I have to "tahan" a bit more, as I'm intend to look for some good deals in Hong Kong when I'm there next month.

Oh ya, did you make use of the external flash and tripod when taking those marco pics?

i used a 430EX for some, but have never used a tripod for my macro unless it's a funny position that i don't wanna be in for too long. I like the freedom, but it can get quite streneuous.

I see... seem like you have the steady hands to take the pics. Hopefully I am able to take these kind of shots with my non-IS lens. Anyway, thanks for the info dude! ;)

I'm a "Bo Bo Shooter"....haha ;p

mm dont worry about it, i too bought that when i first started out, used it once it's been in the box since. It sells at about 140 - 145. Don't worry just take it as a lesson learnt, best is not to do spontaneous buys when it comes to lens, it's not like buying cloths.

Just go out and enjoy yourself with the new gear. Cheers

Thanxs eleveninth. Its definitely a lesson well learnt for me. No more spontaneous retail theraphy for me :embrass:

If the wrong the usual wide angle trick used by those robert chop shop. It should be a wide angle adapter cost only 1xx

Hammie..u are so right there. Its a adapter, not a lense. And I paid a price to learn that

Wow....wat dat sia?? Is dat a lens or a wide angle converter??

got image to show us?

Care to let us noe where u got it from??

U might wanna check wif some of the reputable cam store see they got sell dis thingy bor.

NExt time do homework before you buy ... mind sharing with me which shop u visit ?

jlkk / paperseal, bought it from Merdeka @ SLS.
I should have browse CRXC earlier for more info.. ;p

OMG....thats bad...hmm...well, you bought it already...use it well...though i would really prefer if you had bought a lens from a better brand. Next time try shops like John 3:16, Cathay Photo, Alan Photo...these are more reputable shops.

Don't worry...just have fun...rememeber to do your research before getting anything.

Gman, will definitley check out the recommended shops in future. Thnxs for the advice :)

Haha...not to worry...well, since you've got the adapter already...use it...though it might not be as good as a stand alone wide angle lens, i do think that i can help a little. So make full use of it. And next time do remember to do some research before buying!

Take care
