Thats great man, it takes awhile to get used to. As long as you go out and shoot shoot shoot you'll get the hang of it!

seconded! Theres alot to shoot around singapore, exploreeee!!! Most of the times you'll get to see pretty unusual sights as well.:sweatsm:

Haha...not to worry...well, since you've got the adapter already...use it...though it might not be as good as a stand alone wide angle lens, i do think that i can help a little. So make full use of it. And next time do remember to do some research before buying!

Take care

i would rather go for the EFS55-250mm. But don''t take my word for it, cause i don't have any experience with either lens. Maybe you might wanna check here for some image examples. I always go there and check it out, but remember these guys are posting thier best pictures taken with the lens. So ultimately the best way is to probably go down and test the lens, or rent them to get a feel of it.

PS. beware of getting poisoned.

Hi guys

my first post here! =)
but i admit i've been leeching all info from you guys.. really learning a lot here.. =)

anyway yeah i juz bought the EFS55-250 and tried it out at the zoo.. the pics are amazing and very clear.. it's a really value for money lens as what everyone's saying.. will post up some pics later if i can... =)

ok anyways i have a question of my own.. i'll be going to korea in dec for hols and it's gonna be winter.. and i've read up and the major concern is condensation in the lens ya? so i'm wondering what i have to do/buy to minimise this?

will condensation spoil the lens? and what to do if there's really condensation?

yeah sorry but i'm a noob into dslr photography.. juz got my camera like 1 month ago or so.. :p

I was choosing between these two too a couple weeks back. Will recommend EF-S 55-250MM if you already using the kit lens, 18-55MM. Image quality is good for the pricing of these lens and you wont go wrong with Canon lens.

You can try thirsty hippo and zip loc bag heard it helps. So far i havent had the chance to experience condensation. Might be the weather proofing.

first of all, welcome to the boards!

correct me if i'm wrong, but condensation only is a problem when ur lenses are suddenly introduced into a warm environment from a cold one, especially in humid conditions. when the lenses are cold, the difference in temperature causes moisture in the air to condense on the glass. to prevent this, put ur lenses in a zip loc bag b4 leaving the cold place and take out the lens when its temperature has gone up. keeping it in the zip loc ensures that the lens stay in a less humid environment so it doesnt fog.

i hope i didnt sound too confusing or give the wrong information!

Is this the free one provided by canon? I think there is a time limit from the time you purchase the camera. I dont think i qualify for the free course already.

I am using the EF-S55-250mm and so far its been a good lens...not too bad during the F1 race:-

And great for details on windows in the daylight:-
