My lens came back liao... The edges are a tad sharper now. Gotten the 85mm from a bro here but den I had a hard time controlling the the f1.8... On a tripod, the focus point can shift back and forth. The DOF on my test ruler is like 1cm?

Don't bother unless you like light weight. Once you go 450D all your accessories system gonna change. CF to SD. New batt grip. New batteries.

1.Fixes a phenomenon in which AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) shooting does not operate normally under specific conditions.

2.Fixes a phenomenon in which the Live View exposure simulation warning indication does not properly display during Live View shooting.

3.Fixes a phenomenon in which images cannot be played back after continuous shooting when a printer is connected to the camera or a video output terminal is used.

I believe there are notes on it before you download the update.

You need to download the ACR 4.4 and then follow the instructions given.
Then it should work properly.
