Yes, I was there yesterday night and tried the S95. IQ is nice. I thinking of getting one during the upcoming COMEX. Anyone bought camera during the IT fair or COMEX before? What perk will we get?

usually COMEX perks are the huge crowd, some sales girls in short skirts.. lack of carpark..

and maybe the pouch that comes with e camera, sd card, strap, cleaning set..

i thought the retail price at some places as reported by forumers is $595...

Well, NEX-5 is huge compared to the S95....
Should compare NEX-5 to the Pen. And maybe the S95 to the LX5 (also bigger).

Got my S95 today, great camera. Main factors are size/weight & ease of use for me.

$620 with LCD protector applied.
Standard box items: Kingston SD 8G, hard case, original battery+charger, strap
- from John 3:16. Bought there for sentimental reasons, probably not the best price. The hard case has this plastic stinking smell :what:

$44.80 Kingston 16G CL4 card
- certain booths participating in Kingston's lucky draw @COMEX level 6. Visit Kingston booth to find out. There's also a Strontium booth selling memory cards much cheaper than rest. I'm not a risk taker so just stuck to established brands.

$28 spare battery - Divipower (OEM)

not the cheapest option, but SLR rev was out of stock, I didn't have time to super barter with other shops, etc and no time to get to parisilk (with stock still guaranteed);
Plus, the guys at John 3:16 are really customer oriented; I don't mind paying 10 extra to help keep them in business.

I got mine from SLR rev come with hard case and 8G card. But the zipper hard case looks chiong with only a ixus tag on it. I went down comex canon booth, they also giving away hardcase zipper type but got the canon tag on it, also the zip got canon on it. May I know what kind of case they give for those who bought or ask ard?
I'm thinking of getting the $6 spare batt since both S90 and S95 uses the same batt

Mine's an "Ixus" case. Anyway plan to get a better one with space to keep spare battery and SD card. The case should not be major factor in buying

Sorry, how do u consider if a picture taken is " usable" for those using S95 or S90? What is the max ISO u guys prefer in term of usability of a picture?

If you shoot at 1600 and it still looks fine to you then 1600 is usable. If you shoot at 200 and it still look noisy then 200 is still not usable for you. So the usability of a picture depends entirely on what you use it for. Having said that, I find 800 on the S95 not too bad for a compact.

I got it today at SLR rev. The original one is 1000mAh. This $6 one is 3800mAh. So far from S90 users reviews, they have no Neg comments.

Does the LCD protector cover the whole panel, including the non-displaying area, or just the display area only?

I just used a cheap cheap LCD protector meant for nDSL I bought cheaply last time, but covered only a little more than the display area. ;p

Ya, they sell as loose item. No need to buy cam. But it is not original canon batt thou. U can read S90 forum for the batt review
