might i suggest creating a canon/nikon gallery etc. ?
:bsmilie: you're right, she was complaining about the wet diaper after that shoot. In general, I quite like the bokeh from this len on 500D.
Testing the Bokeh of 18-200mm (no PP done)

Yes you are correct about the eval metering, should I have used spot instead? I did have problems with the flash bouncing off the star. I felt that the 500d does not have the underexposed problem with my previous 400d.
Using spot might have reduced the highlight of the star. Evaluative takes into account the entire frame which includes a lot of the background which is dark. So it might have overexposed it a bit. But with reflective surfaces and a flash, you might still get the highlight on the star. With a stationary object like the Cap'n, you can mount the camera on a tripod and use a very slow shutter speed. In case you do not have a tripod yet, sit the camera on a stable surface (e.g. chair / table and use the timer countdown (the one you use to shoot yourself with a bunch of friends) when the shutter speed is slow to remove problems with handshake.
Looks like the 500D is not bad. I may get one for travelling since its light and can do relatively good 720p video.
Shutter: 10s
Aperture: 9.0
ISO: 100
Its amazing what DPP can do and what you can do to your RAW fileIt was pretty dull at first but managed to bring out the colors and I'm happy with it. No photoshop mods hehehe
