If I m not wrong,
this one shd be referred to large (L) JPEG format [8 bits and min compression]
But what is this requirement for?

the montage.sg competition cause i believe all the original jpegs are 24Bit. If we step it down, become terrible in quality. should i just go ahead and submit?

If I am not wrong,
the L format JPEG directly from camera is 8 bits only.
It is only the RAW file which is 14 bits for 450D.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

So, it shd be alright for u to go ahead and submit your photo.

i check my S5 IS and 450D all sizes still 24bit, dont know man maybe check wrongly. nvm ijust send

R ur JPEG photos directly from camera itself?
or do u always pp ur photos by using photoshop?
If u use the photoshop to process your photos,
most likely they will be larger than 8 bits and it depends on ur photoshop settings also.

Well, if Linux has more support for photography softwares, it would be a serious contender for Mac. No virus. Nothing.
I am running second year on Ubuntu Linux, and I am a very happy user.
