Anyway, back to the equipment talks. It seems that the lenses are getting more costly.

I'm not sure if I heard it wrongly, but I think I was quoted $7xx for Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro today when I called up one of the shops. Will confirm it later.

BTW Canon prices are set to go up very soon as what I was told by the staff in OP.

I actually need a tele range lens quite urgently. I do not mind 2nd hand as I think I will re-sell it. Ultimately, my priority is the Canon 70-200.

Which is a better choice? Sigma or Tamron? Any good ones to recommend?

Well, I guess you should just get 70-200mm f/4 L. I personally prefer Tamron over Sigma.

From around 70 to 300, best if the lens has a constant aperture of f/2.8.
